Massive warehouse parties, androgyny, guyliner, tracksuit-ed breakdancers, surfing, neon day glow wetsuits. AND the best dr*gs! Nearly pure c*caine, pharmaceutical MDMA- None of today’s bath salts / made in China lethal laced cartel mystery shiit. No internet, no fear, a much friendlier time. Miami Vice came on NBC Friday nights at 10 pm. Great show. I loved watching it back then. The 80s were all about pastel colors, neutral grays, neon lights. Women were fit and toned. Nautilus was in, gym memberships soared and cocaine was king. Video arcades were a blast. Glad I got to live through the 80s as a teen. Class of '86.

Television really came into its own, neon color was like invented (or at least they started to do everything in neon, clothes, caps, shoes) Music went synth, dancing moves were fun, wearing shades wherever you went was cool, the hairstyle LOL OMG the hair. I had the highway man / Macgyver mullet... as everyone did. hear me rambling on. I was born '75 but I must admit that a lot of great memories are also of the 90's. Do some imaginary time travel.... get into the mindset and listen some 80s. Put on some 80s TV shows. it really was just a mindset :)

Hi Stevie, I was lucky enough to come into this world in 1971, and so I could experience the 80's magic. If I compare this decade with the current one, well...: I remember the bulk of people were by far cooler and softer with their next beings that they are today (not only in my country, France, but also in the United States, where I travelled 2 times in the 80's, and then more recently, what a difference !...), the hairstyle and clothing were both casual and inventive, and the musics were greatly melodic, with a lot of groups using the synths as genius (Scorpion, Genesis, Depeche Mode, Vangelis, Europe, Simple Minds, and so many others !). But thanks to the #NewRetroWave / #Synthwave / #RetroElectro artists there is now kind of a revival of that great vibe. So in spite of being born later, you can enjoy the best of that special vibe ! -:)) Enjoy and cheers from France

Agreed. I've listened to this song at least 100 times and every time that part comes up, I start playing "Air keyboard". EVERY TIME lol. I remember once when a girl i worked with asked me what kinda music I was into, and when I played this song for her and that part came up, she laughed at me. Screw her. In 15-25 years no one is gonna remember today's lineup crop of forgettable "music stars" (I refuse to call them musicians, because that requires talent and skill), but the 80's will live on forever!!

The 80s were a time for me to dream as a kid. I didn't know so much that is dark in this world and I think America was a lot happier back then. I think everyone dreamed about space travel and other amazing things that were ahead for us. Its just to bad war and politics messed things up. We could of landed on mars by now and possibly had better ways with treating our earth. Thanks for this track. It makes me happy. :)

Born with shades on ... in '75 My first baby clothes was a Miami Vice Supercut with rolled up sleeves - Baby Blue. I ordered my first Pizza when I was 4 weeks old, It was cold and I got it for free. I could play the synthesizer before uttering my first words, age 1. My room wasn't babied up.... i decorated it with Neon paint and posters of Airwolf, Macgyver, Chuck Norris, Samantha Fox and Heather Locklear. I didn't drive a normal baby Stroller - It was a convertible Damnit ... and it was heavy on fuel, I didn't really know about "the enviroment" I was preparing for the 80's By the time I was 5, I'd sneak out of my room once my parents were asleep and head down to the raddest night clubs. Drive around busting post boxes and egging houses. And still..... after such a long night, wake up in time for the kick ass Saturday morning cartoon run such as He-Man. And that was only 1981 ..
