1977 was my year.. my family is 100 percent cuban.. de Bayamo y la Habana. This and Scarface are such an accurate depiction. Before Cocaine Miami was a latin Wichita. Let's never forget the armored death wagon found at Dadeland mall. Moreover where the hell u think all these people grew up in? Talking smack about commusim is one thing, but being born into it and now 45 years in.. gotta say my mom's and pops act exactly like the one they hate the most..Castro. they have never known anything else and the revolution left epic shell-shock. My dad swears it's Iran Contra at the local county town of 23000 in western Puerto Rico. Last thing that really hit home was argument between two people outside a supermarket in hialeah.. u would think it's putin meets zelinsky by chance eating moon over Mihami at local dennys in South Beach. Truth of the matter was that friends from their youth were having a tad bit heated convo about why scaramuchj never should have been fired..

I was born in 1984. I can't really remember much of it these days, but thankfully I have a lot of my home movies to watch and keep the spirit of the 80's alive. One fun thing I like to do is listen to songs like this while watching them. If there's one thing that proves the authenticity of this whole genre of 80's inspired music, it's listening to it while watching home movies from the 80's and both seeing and hearing just how well it "fits" :)
