Commiefornia outlawed gold dredging starting with a temporary moratorium. Then the Indian tribe in bed with the enviro crooks destroyed the most efficient way to get gold. Rules already in place to protect the environment. Now only panning allowed so very little gold can be recovered. This destroyed a wonderful outdoor hobby/lifestyle. Commiefornia the downfall of the USA

One summer, I worked a claim with a friend in the Sierras. We made a few thousand bucks. Enough to cover expenses. It waa hard work ( you could use a dredge back then) but the real payoff was spending time in the outdoors

I grew up near Placerville and it’s exactly like that. A literal mining town in almost every facet. Hasn’t changed that much. Beautiful woods all around and smells fresh. One thing I miss about that area.

*ID LOVE TO DO THIS* just for the experience - maybe have a few grains of gold that I found myself In my country, the rivers have quite a lot of gold but its VERY illegal to pan for it in order to protect the environment - it got out of hand in the 90's and the rivers were destroyed by people dredging etc.

@@lamarravery4094 ~The commercial gold you bought could have come from a large open pit gold mine using blasting, excavators, and dump trucks. Commercial mining does a lot more damage to the nature environment than individual people working with a shovel trying to find gold.
