Here Floor easily sings that high note at the beginning, kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqnHqaCnrsenY7s it's a pity the quality of the video and sound is bad. In that other video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKayZmaLgrJ4osU when she sang this note and it didn't work out, 95% sure that the reason was heels, she walked and ran on very high heels with very thin stilettos, lost her balance a little and the whole note can go bad, especially when it's a very high note, so it's not surprising that it turned out that way, so it's not her voice, she just when walked or ran there, lost her balance, and the note didn't work out, to sing such a note you need to stand firmly on your feet, how could she sing at all running around with these heels, it's incredible.

After Forever, Floor and Nightwish crossed paths in 2004. I think it would have been on the European Tour for "Once". Floor said Nightwish and she stayed in touch after that. When the tour ended...End of An Era, lore has it Tuomas wanted Floor....but After Forever was still going strong and would until around 2008 I think. Actually I think that speaks very highly for Floor. She strikes me as highly loyal. Something I'm sure the members of Nightwish also appreciate.

That is not Mark, that is Sander :) Mark already left to found Sahara Dust and that became Epica later. Yup, going through some golden oldies and always fun to see reactions to something I grew up with. After Forever was amazing, via them I started the concert photography, seen them so many times and always great fun. Love it that you went through some old gigs of them, enjoy! I do love the small jokes they did, fun fact is that Epica also do that. Tune from a tv show, movie or other band and then back to action. Brings a smile to your face and laughter. You can see how much fun they are having on stage and that reflexes back to the audience for sure.

The first four songs of this show are perfect. They come from the concept album, Invisible Circles, which is among the best albums ever made. It's about a little girl that's horribly abused and neglected by her narcissistic parents. It's brutal, not for the faint of heart and if you have abuse in your past . you might want to skip it. It's that intense. The whole concert is fantastic, though the recording quality is not great. There's a remastered version of the whole show on KZbin. Charlie should stream it.

In this clip it's indeed Sander doing the vocals. In 2004 the band already had said goodbye to Mark and found their former roadie Bas as a good guitarist and great singer (try listening to the clean vocals on Dreamflight). Never really hung out with the band since they broke up... last thing I know is that Sander was a teacher while playing in AF. Also: he didn't per se liked doing those growls, but he did it anyway because he could do it without hurting his voice. AF had this tradition of messing about on stage, like parodying other bands signature moves like kicking in sync or playing their guitars upright... in this case it's playing something ludicrous in the interlude of the song. They also covered a lot of songs, but I think only "The Evil That Men Do" made it to an album. Europe's Final Countdown was always a great party, but Sander was a good sport once... telling us: "I royally messed up that solo, let's go again". Hope that gives you some fun facts about the band and thanks for the video

At 5'17" minute (in your comment video), the band begins an interlude that Floor called "grapje" which is Dutch for 'a small Joke'. What was happening? The lead guitar played the well known tune of "Hai Pipi Langkous/ Longstocking" (original Swedish: "Pippi Långstrump"), a between 1973 and 1990 popular kids TV program in Europe kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4emh2ewqM57qac FYI: In 2005, UNESCO published lists of the most widely translated books. In regard to children's literature, Pippi Longstocking was listed as the fifth most widely translated work with versions in 70 different languages. As of 2017, it was revealed that Lindgren's works had been translated into 100 languages.

I can understand why some people lately say that Nightwish is actually holding Floor back from her capabilities.
@gregjetnikoff71242 жыл бұрын
I think statements like that are a little unfair. Floor was a lot younger, and After Forever was so intense, she actually burnt out remember. She is taking better care of herself now and limits the superintense stuff now. Personally I would rather we got the best she can give and survive rather that a sing to the death. Yes is lacks abit of superpower, but she also is capable of much more beautiful stuff now as a compensation. This song sounds so Nina Hagan... Imagine Floor in the Ring! She could just wear her Nightwish costume!

She didn’t get a burnout from after forever. It was revamp, which was her own band and she was in charge of everything so there was a lot of pressure there. She wanted to get things right.

@@Rosannasfriend Yeah , my bad. Got them mixed up. She still bangs out the high notes, just doesn't throw her whole self into the maelstrom. That sort of continual performance would have to take a toll eventually, even for someone as remarkable as Floor.
@SuperMoofie2 жыл бұрын
I don't think she is being held back at all in Nightwish. This era was a different part in her personal evolution and development as a singer, and just part of the whole journey. I'm sure that Floor wouldn't do anything she wasn't comfortable doing. She's a pretty intelligent person and would always think carefully about her choices. She loves being in Nightwish - that doesn't sound like a person who is being held back, to me. Tuomas has challenged her in the new album, and she just soars. They are an incredible combination.

I just discovered Nightwish with Floor 2.5 years ago. I haven't checked out too much stuff with Nightwish and the 2 previous female singers. Just started checking some performances of Floor with her previous 2 bands. What I found interesting is that Floor uses a lot of her mannerisms and stage personalities from these 2 bands in Nightwish, but not the insanely heavy stuff. I always like to watch Floor do anything, but the music with these 2 bands are not my cup of tea (the music and the crazy stuff from band members), but Floor is awesome. I suppose if I dug deeper I would find songs from these bands with better music. I prefer the more tame Nightwish behavior and sound. But, I do like the Disdain version, Graspop (2010).
