Talking about chemistry: look up some reaction videos of your collegue reactors. Some stumbled over their own words, some couldn't speak a single sound, some broke down into tears and this includes professional vocal coaches. Their chemistry hit home and it hit home hard!

Henk was the original phantom when it was first performed in Holland. Floor was a massive fan of his before the show. From the outset she wanted to do this with him. He agreed on one condition, that when Nightwish play in Holland this year, he joins them on stage to perform it with them. He learned to put distortion on his voice for her (check out his take on Sound of silence). This is Floor performing with one of her musical idols.

Floor is so happy because this is like a dream to her. To sing with and hear the man she grew up admiring, singing the song she heard and loved as a girl...lifetime dream come true. She, in that moment was IN the Phantom of the Opera with, as she called him, "THE Henk Poort" :D

Green-Lyon and Henk stepped way out of his comfort zone for her twice, by adding distortion to his voice. This is something that is really frowned upon by the classical singing community ... that too added joy and pride for Floor :)

Great reaction again. Floor knew Henk for a long time, as he is a famous opera- and musical singer in the Netherlands. Henk has played this role in the Dutch Phantom for over 600 times, but never like this, as he said. Floor knew him already from her youth, but as a fangirl. Henk got to know Floor as he digged into her music, doing his homework for this show. You can tell, watching the whole series of shows, that he became a fan of Floor and Nightwish too. As a result of this, Floor did a series of soloshows in the Netherlands, with Henk as a guest singer and I was lucky to be at one of the shows. They were sold out in 1 day. There is still one (also sold out in one day) show to come in the Afas Music Hall, that can have 7000 people. That will be on March 24. Maybe nice to know, they only rehearsed this song once together, before this phenomenal performance. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Every damn thing came together for this performance. Their forms, their voices, their chemistry, their charisma, stage presence, their performance, their acting, the band, the setting, the weather breaking and a thunderstorm starting mere minutes before this performance started - you can see the rain all throughout their performance .... And that final note, she hit a perfect, flawless D6 and held it for *eight* seconds. Duet of the century? I don't know. But a contender for sure. As for Henk and Floor - Henk has been one of Floor's premier music idols all her life, and she was the one who requested this from Henk for the 'duets' episode of Beste Zangers. Henk agreed, under the condition that Nightwish invite him on their Dutch leg of their upcoming tour to sing this with Floor. They agrees. Henk's also accompanying Floor on her solo tour through the NL where they sing this.

Floor was so happy at the point from Henk's growl. He's a trained opera singer and that is a big no-no in the opera to put any kind of distortion on your voice. I believe this was only the second time he had sung with distortion. The first was also on Beste Zangers when he performed Sound of Silence. You should check that out as well -- it is phenomenal.

That last note is just soul shattering. You would expect a note that high at that volume to last maybe 3-4 seconds at maximum. Human lungs can only hold so much air, and fluid dynamics would suggest it just isn’t possible to do this. And yet, it just keeps going, and going, and going with supreme control and tone for a full 8 seconds. It’s almost inhuman.

Floor is amazing and she was having such a great time to sing this with Henk, a man she admired for decades and she now got to sing with... it was a dream come true for her. This was one of the few times that the hype wasnt a killer, the moment the rumor was proven to be true, that they would do "The Phantom" .. people went nuts. Expectations became mountain-high, and then some... and usually when that happens its bound to disappoint us because we somehow expected more and bigger and whatnot. But not this time.. we expected the moon, they gave us the universe.. simply.. amazing. Now we've gotten into Henk territory, you might want to check out his other duet with Emma Heesters "Vivo per Lei" and his version of "Sound of silence" (disturbed cover) and.. i think you'd like his version of "Despacito" as well.. he changed that up a great deal. Also the country song "Your man" he did a great version of. Ty for the upload and react Chinky :D

Now we are talking, my friend. This is the duet of the century. Two singing heavyweights met in the middle of the thunderrstorm. The loud cracking sound in the beginning of the video is a real thunder. Notice the wet floor and water drops. Only real comparison of that is Nightwish version with Tarja Turunen and Marko Hietala at the lead. Floor is wearing there necklace of finnish design by Kalevala Koru. Be well and sleep tight!

When you love it, you feel everything. And you haven't even gotten to any of her favorite songs to perform yet. :) They go wonderfully together, and that's saying a ton considering the original Nightwish version is not an easy arrangement by any means. I think both are incredible performances with top notch musicians. New single is amazing. The video is absolutely chilling, just fair warning. Nothing overly gross or bloody, just stuff that can be hard to think about. ( Tuomas is right once again, though )

Honey you are so good at this. Wait until you see her in Nightwish. Not only will she continue to surprise you, but Nightwish is the same way. You never know what you are going to get the first time you hear one of their songs. This will be such a fun journey. And you are starting yours out with their new album on April 10th. I've been watching your videos since you jumped on board the Floor Jansen train and I was waiting for this one :D I like your reaction videos very much. Since you've done an "Unleash the Archers" reaction video already (one of my favorite bands, besides Nightwish and a few others like Burning Witches, Alien Weaponry, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Insomnium, Devin Townsend, Dream Theater), I think that by now you're ready to get into some Nightwish stuff ;) Try "Ghost Love Score", "Ever Dream", "Storytime", "Song Of Myself", "The Last Ride Of The Day", "Nemo", "Ghost River" (and all the other songs) from the Wacken 2013 concert. Then a few songs from the Wembley Arena, like "The Poet And The Pendulum" (this has some copyright issues, afaik, so pause it in between), "Seven Days To The Wolves", and others. And then from the Tampere concert in Finland "The Greatest Show On Earth" and "Sleeping Sun"... ... to name just a few (literally just scratching the surface of Nightwish's discography). Enjoy the ride on the Nightwish train! I can imagine you'll love it! (And you should ever run out of Nightwish songs to listen to, I would recommend a few songs from the bands I've mentioned above... ;) )

Not sure if this is what you were going for when you talked about how well she projects her voice, but I've heard others talk about her "resonance," which you can really hear, especially on the higher, longer notes. She's just fantastic. I see others have mentioned Nightwish's new single "Noise." I don't think you've reacted to Nightwish yet, though I know you've mentioned you will. I'm a little torn as to whether to personally recommend "Noise" right off the bat since it's a music video and not a live performance, and there is so much more to Floor in a live concert that doesn't come across in the Beste Zangers shows. Plus, "Noise" is an incredibly deep-messaged song that without some real background on the band, might seem either confusing or intimidating. Particularly as a reaction video and first exposure to them. (Those who've seen it will surely get the reference.) The song and video are awesome; pure Nightwish, but I'm a "don't fix what ain't broke" kinda dude, and "Ghost Love Score" at Wacken 2013 is *probably* the best way to start the Nightwish journey. Others may disagree. Ultimately though, I hope you get on the train; it's a wild, wild ride. Great react as always.

I like the reactions but just a small constructive criticism - sometimes you need to hear whole phrases without pausing to get the whole vibe and picture. The whole buildup at the end is objectively more impactful without pausing in the middle of a phrase (ESPECIALLY if you do Nightwish reactions [Floor's awesome band]). I've seen it in other videos too but again, I like the reactions so keep it up.
