That was a great episode. And I learned one thing (again) from this show: Context is important! I mean, there has been some harsh critics about the "not-so-nightwish" versions performed by the other artists. For example Kelvin Jones' speech in Storytime. But given the context that Storytime is about dreams, and that his father once told him to give up his dream of becoming a lawyer, because "there are limits what our people can be" (i.e. black people), it hits even harder. SDP? Well, they found "Amaranth" to be the Nightwish version of "Unikat". They tried to understand the meaning of this song (like many, many others as well), so they could deliver its message in their own words - and they did it well. By pure coincidence, Floor and SDP sung basically the same song for each other. And finally Clueso. When Floor spoke about what the lyrics of Sleeping Sun mean to her, quoting the line "I wish for this night time to last for a life time", I felt almost sorry for him. You could see how he realized that he "failed" in that sense: He took another big gulp from his cup and started apologizing for what he did to this song. With that context, I can almost like it.

Yes. Johannes knows how to convey emotion. SDP and the Floor connection between Amaranth and Unikat and how both songs came to fruition is so beautiful. Those guys sang to her in German , fun filled, but the lyrics were written to Floor in admiration. Very touching also.

I felt sorry for the other participants in the show. Floor is a very nice person but when it comes to her music she takes no prisoners and does not hold back. She crushed them as a performer and they know it.

Have you actually seen the show? Floor doesn't "crush" them. Floor is the technically best singer, and the other singers appreciate that. But singing performance isn't just about technical perfection. The other singers have their own style and are great at that. Plus, they wrote their songs themselves. And especially Johannes Oerding knows how to make another person's song his own.Don't underestimate the other singers.

@@NikiokoI want my bias to be known up front. I had heard the phrase star struck before but had never felt the feeling. I discovered this feeling with Floor. I am an old guy but better late than never. I have seen the show thanks to Jennie Noppers for the English subtitles. The others knew about her superiority as a singer by the time they got to her portion of the show. As Elif says she sang them to the wall in the other episodes. I saw her portion of the other episodes. I think they did a fairly good job in singing her songs to her. Even cluso. It took guts to rewrite sleeping sun and sing it in a totally different style. Floor was obviously thrown off by that level of ballsiness. I think they genuinely tried to do their best. Floor is an international singing sensation. She has a world-class stage presence and ability to tell a story. Her ability to connect with an audience is also first rate. And that's before you get to her vocal range and technical abilities to add color and emotional resonance. She can bring an audience to tears seemingly at will As many have said she can do it all. She did rap on this show (in German!!!!) and she also sang a page out of the phone book in a Dutch show. In my opinion she is in the top 1% of female singers in non-classical performances. In conclusion I stand by my opinion. The others did not stand a chance.
