I remember renting both the SNES and Genesis version of this game too many times. I think in the end I preferred the SNES one because it felt a little more slower paced and not as cheap with the enemies, if I remember correctly. My brother was all about the Genesis one because the BLOOD...which, fair enough. It is delightful.

Robocop vs Terminator for the Genesis is legit one of my favorite games ever simply because it was the one game my father and I would play together because of how cool he thought Robocop and Terminator were. He'd often let me play until I got bored then get to the final boss himself before letting me best the Skynet CPU so I could "win" the game despite him doing 75% of the work. Great memories.

Funny you should mention it vehicle sections. Did you know the SEGA CD version of 'Robocop vs Terminator' was planned to have driving levels where you drove the Ford Taurus. It was meant have an original soubdtrack, cutscenes & the driving levels would be somewhat similar to those in Batman Returns for the SEGA CD, using that peripheral's scaling & rotation. Needless to say, that version of the game got cancelled early, due to the SEGA CD's lackluster sales. 😢 Unfortunate, b/c it probably would've made for a fun little game.

Dude, I REMEMBER this game! It wasn't just a fever dream after all. I remember renting it and playing it on my Sega Genesis. And I remember my dad, or my mom, getting upset with how violent it is. It's pretty damn fun, and I love the spritework, these are some nice pixels and good colors! Oh yeah, and the TRAUMATIZING levels of gore that you wouldn't expect!

Cant deny I am kinda hyped for the Robocp fps from the terminator guys. For me one of the best cross over from western franchises is Judge Dredd vs Aliens. The world is so brutal in Judge Dredd the Aliens are treated just like any other daily threat. Its super fun, it woudl make an amazing animation or movie. But sadly no one cares.

The main thing I remember about this is that there was a cheat on the Megadrive version which only altered the game by switching in female thugs in place of some of the male ones. It was just an interesting 'cheat', like if Final Fight for the SNES let you cheat back in Roxy and Poison instead of their male replacements.

Man. For everyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s, You know Mature shit was Marketed to you because your parents exposed you to it. I grew up as a Kid watching RoboCop! It was on Often enough on HBO that the Scene where Murphy got blown away began to lose its meaning when you also flipped over to the stuff on the Discovery Channel in that same time period LOL! So in a sense you kinda have forgotten that these companies knew what the kids were being exposed too, because like with Tales from the Crypt, they would offer use a Saturday morning version of the stuff we could watch at night with our parents.

I beat this game as a kid. I just left it on and kept pausing it when I would do my runs through it. Spoilers. Skynet is a Giant floating Terminator head. If I remember correctly. I beat it with no game genie at that too. Couldn't afford it. 😂

RoboCop 2 still has Weller (and still gore and satire and such even if it doesn't quite reach the original's iconic level). RoboCop 3... doesn't. I did like Dr Lazarus but Lewis going out the way she did sucked and the general TV-movie feel of everything (leading then to the actual live action TV show where every bit of the edge the films started with had been completely removed and was now safe for daytime viewing) really just makes it feel extremely detached from the first two. Also RoboCop 2 had RoboCain, who was even cooler than the somewhat 'cutesy' (for that world) ED-209. RoboCop 3 had... japanese guys who were supposedly robots. The weapons arm was kinda neat though. The jetpack was perhaps just too goofy and toyetic but eh sometimes I let that pass when it comes with the action figures. :P
