I remember playing it one time in my grandma's house and everyone was spooked by that. Her cousin was like "Look at that girl embracing the skeleton! That's so creepy! Why do you youngsters play these things?!" 😂😂😂 and the ps1 version didn't had the translation at the time so i had to explain the context.

I'm shocked at how useful Jennifer is in this game. She can knock down walls, fight back, trick the guy while being persued. Every other horror protag needs to take fuckin notes!

Considering this game basically inspired a whole survival horror subgenre of "oh god, just run" it is interesting how capable she is.

🎃🎃🎃 Matt and Liam spooky time is my absolute favorite. The scissorman being a kind of deformed creepy little boy also seems inspired by Phenomena, and the setting for this game is also very similar to the movie; the film takes place at a school for girls in Switzerland, while this game takes place at an orphanage in Norway. The girl's body falling through the massive stained glass window seems like an homage to Suspiria, Dario Argento's most well known film. At this point, I'm thinking there will be more Argento references as the game proceeds.

I think the new enemy from the PSX port is a weird mummy that spawns in the meat locker, but it's a random chance in every new playthrough

Any way to get the audio of the game a little higher? Would do well to convey some of the spooky atmosphere. Your vocals are so much higher that I can't turn the volume up without getting yelled at.

Funny that a lot of concern of this playthrough was directed at the fact that you can't sit on furniture. Maybe they'll add that in the new release to recover stamina back.

Some of the sound and visual effects are so wonky in the PS1 version, especially the scream effect. It feels less like a style choice and more like they just broke some of them when they ported it from the SNES version. Unless the translation broke it? Admittedly I've never seen footage from the original unpatched game.
