As someone who lives in Malaysia i am proud to say I've visited this area many times, it was super fun, i always loved going there. I rode on robocoaster, it was really fun, i recommend trying that ride next time, you should also ride on the boat ride i forgot where its at but i know that it includes water, it requires a raincoat too, could really get you wet but its super fun!

haha fun rides,btw other then just driving cat there are bus u can ride that goes to genting like 1 utama, kl central theres lot more and it only goes to awana skyway aka where the premium outlet is located. If u wanna try out the awana cablecar take note there is some dates is not open, and u would need to take the old cable car which is genting skyway

There are always private cars, bus and taxis to go up to Genting Highlands. It's a very popular place so it's very easy to get a transport to go up. Another reason (probably main) why KL ppl likes to go there is also because of the weather. It is chilly all year round. I remembered my younger days just driving up with some friends and just sit at Coffee Bean or any outdoor place just to hang out in a colder temperature! Plus, it's a place with loads of horror stories too! Just ask any Malaysians if they have a ghost story to tell. 😄

Definitely recomended if you are going further north towards ipoh/penang. But it is raining a lot lately so please be careful on the mountain roads. Hope you have a great time here guys. Xiexie. It's GERN-ting (as in games, gate, get...not jet, Gerry) not GENT-thimg Highlands. Genting means roof or peak shelter in Malay language :) GEN-thimg or Yuen Ting means sky roof of the mountain etc :)

In Chinese Genting can also mean "Above the Clouds". I was there 20 years ago and took the tram to the casino. The entire mountain has been developed nicely.

There was a outdoor theme park for more than 30 years ago, what are u even saying. It has always been there until recently 20th Century Fox took over and rebranded the theme park.

The outdoor theme park was always there until 20the Fox joint venture with Genting to develop a larger theme under the 20th Fox brand but half way the development, they have disagreement and stopped work for several years, that's probably when you are there. Later Genting owned the whole project and become as it is today.

15 years ago i went to Genting Highlands from KL Sentral by bus, we bought return tickets, unlimited outdoor theme park entry and cable car, all together (bus, theme park, cable car) about USD 13 only

The easiest way is to go to KL Sentral station. Downstairs is a bus station (ask somebody if you have difficulty finding it) where you can buy bustickets at a stand at the platform, in combination with a ticket from Awana station where the bus drops you off, for a gondola-ride up to Genting.

Actually I am also glad you went to Genting. Whilst GH is bright and colourful, it is a wonderful contrast that you see of Malaysia; we have the full spectrum from the solitude nature to the other end like Genting, and everything else in between. What Malaysia doesn't have is 4 seasons. If we have that, I thin it would be even more fun.

The reason why there's so less people, apart from it being a weekday, is because currently it's towards the end of the monsoon season, which means it rained a lot and recently there were landslides around the area killing a group of children who were camping there. It was big in the local news, that's why many people refrained from going to the area until it is less humid.

‘Cool’ video guys. Genting Highlands is the quick cool getaway for many locals. Its where we go for dating, fun with friends, family time and even shopping or golf (some even go for road racing 😮). Have a lot of good memories there. Fun fact - I cant go into the casino as Muslim Malaysians are not allowed to enter the casino.

Well you can go by bus... It's run by Genting Highland company... You have to go to KL Sentral to take the bus to go to Genting Highland... It cost about RM 10 each per person...

Yes it's rm10. But one way only and the bus only gets u to premium outlets and not the resort. U need to take the cable car to continue ur journey which costs another rm10. So it's roughly rm20 per person but if you are a family or group with 4 persons or more, it's more economical and convenient to just use grab or airasia ride and it costs aprox rm90-100 one way for the whole car

Yes u can take a reasonably sized luggage with u. The buses and cable cars allow that. And there are paid storage facilities too, plus complimentary storage if you are a hotel guest
