And he will say he thrives off those haters. So true, Im a Bloomer fan and so many times have caught sh!# for being one. But when he beat those peoples fav driver made me so proud of him. For better or worse... I'm 66 and have met Bloomer several times at Farley Speedway in IA, back in the early 90's. And he was right when he said he would drive up in his open trailer and when he jumped out he had a flowing mane of hair and the good ole boyzz hated that. Billy Moyer and he had some great battles and a few pushing and shoving matches between them... He was the badass then and still is now... Love that guy...

I was walking through the pits at the dream this year. Bloomquist had his hauler parked on the end at turn 2. As I was walking by, I saw him through the gap between his truck and trailer. He was running his angle sander, doing his own tires. I started filming and after a few moments, he turned around, looked at me briefly, then turned back around and continued. It was a surreal moment.

Scott was a hero to me in the 90's. I was on a small limited late model crew at the age of 15. I first saw Scott at a small track in Clearfield PA which was our home track. Then again in Hagerstown MD and was amazed at his skill in a late model. I never managed to gain the financial position to drive myself but I will never forget that race in tiny Clearfield where this driver showed up in a really nice trailer to show us small town boys how it's done.

I forget what year it was exactly. After Tony had purchased the big E. Scott was running like shit, for qualifying races , but was still in the show. ( The World) we were at the campgrounds across the street from the track. Big commotion going on in the afternoon. . People were along the road to the east and west. Apparently Scott wasn't aloud on the track, and used the side road to adjust his timing. With fans lining up down both sides of the road. I didn't see it, but just missed it. I asked several people what was happening . They all said Bloomquist was in his car raising he'll on the street. He got his timing adjusted and finished second that year. Thought to myself , that is fning nuts. Been a fan ever since.

Kinser and Hewitt are definitely the two best open wheel racers in Eldora history. Larry Moore and Bloomer are the two lm racers in Eldora history, but I think what separates Scott is the magnitude of the races he's won at Eldora. (8x Dream, 4x World) Now alot of that has to do with the timing, racers from previous era's didn't have the opportunities the current generation has.
