My grandson fell in love with this treehouse. Now Grandpa has a summer project. Nothing as elaborate, but we have 2nd growth Douglas Fir here on our farm that would be great as a structure.

He's more compassionate than us - we just chop the trees down and stick them into a factory to dry them in a hot kiln, to make our houses and furniture, whereas over half of the wood in his structure is still alive, and the remaining wood is reclaimed.

Next to my old elementary school we had this area called 'The building playground', where kids a certain age got supplies to build their own wooden huts. It resulted in crazy cool random structures with all sort of creative little things you would just never see in anything build by adults. This reminds me a little of that. It was awesome.
