I cannot listen to this song without tearing up. So beautiful, such sad foreshadowing.

Florence’s voice was really powerful and really sold the song out...

Being a massive book snob here, I gave up hope for the show couple of seasons ago, but this song is a treat. It is quite important in the books (for a different time and place though) and the reader knows only a couple of lines. So to get full lyrics and 2 versions, the one being by magnificent Florence Welch...ahhh! Makes my heart happy! Also, the way it sounds explains why it brings people to tears in the books. I freaking bawled 😭

It's also believed that Rhaegar wrote this song and was the one he played that made Lyanna cry
@loganeaton95683 ай бұрын
@@michealselvage1872 Makes alot of sense, Rhaegar was obsessed with Summerhall and it's written that in his younger years he would even spend his days in the ruins of Summerhall. Rhaegar was obsessed with Summerhall so much he was found even sleeping in them.

Love season 8 so far and I'm in love with this song,Florence never disappoints As soon as the episode ended was looking for the song,I shazamed it on the credits And in that night I purchased the song,little bit of support :) I'm not super eager to watching episode 3 cause I know some of them might die in it :( But I'm curious to see what's gonna happen and what's Danny gonna do now that she knows the truth

It's weird, I actually prefer her live versions more than the recording. Can't believe it's been year since the travelling bard Florence visited Winterfell.

it was an amazing and beautiful episode! I think that this song and the way in which was set up is ominous! now that I'm paying attetion really closely to lyric video, I do think that is full of clues for the outcome of this

I wish they'd just gone with a full Podrick version, his voice just suited it more. Not Saying Florence + The Machine is bad, but Pod's voice just worked better with the tone of the song.

Idk, it's comparing a diddy ( which can often be sad, but usually sung as "Oh that's unfortunate " in terms of level of sadness. Compared to Florence's which is more of a ceremonial, ode to the dead and swan song of sorts? Podrick's actor didn't have to sing even 10% of the song and run into the lyrical repetition which as a singer it's difficult enough to sing the same lyric differently once from verse to verse. The max people tend to have to do is maybe 3 times in a row , twice in the song. That's only 6 times they tend to have to repeat as a whole, where Florence had to repeat thanks to . . . a lacking lyricist a total of 15 times. 5 at a time? You have to come up with a different edge ofdoing that EACH time and that's HARD and in a song like this where repetition for the type of era they're trying to give? It's out of place as that is more a current century formula / cheat. I mean, prefer it if you prefer it but it's a really unfair comparison. As a singer I'd never attempt to cover this. You need a LOT of different colors and texture shifts to not make this song dull past the first 45 seconds. It's such a simple song but, it's difficult because it doesn't stand on its own.

You're great. I reccommend you watch thisnone too. Don't know if you want your reaction filmed, but you'll definitely cry. The Jorah, Jon and Daenerys scenes are amazing. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKGYaZWeec6bnKs This was such a good ending when you look at the whole series, from the start. I'm so sad for people who are hating the show these days and say it was rushed. It went just...exactly where it was supposed to go
