Game 1 Build Explained. Spoilers 5:00 Pylon is made on the edge to hide the forge. This hides the forge to keep the opponent from thinking there might be a cannon rush. 5:04 The gas is made to stack the probes. One probe 1 has a mineral and probe 2 has no minerals. This allows me to click the mineral to force probe 1 with the mineral to go return the mineral after touching the opponent's mineral. Probe 2 is on a hotkey to hold position while it is collecting a mineral since it has no mineral from the start. Having them stacked leaving the base keeps the opponent from seeing two probes leave the base witch screams cannon rush. 5:29 The opponent hasn't seen the forge, so they need more information for process of elimination on what it could be. The gas is gathered to force the opponent to assume it must be a gas play, this will cancel their thoughts of it being a cannon rush. Doing this allows the player from getting aggressive towards the probe when inside their base. 5:45 I hide probe 2 into the pocket and create a light diversion so the opponent doesn't pull too many workers. The monkey video shows the color change on the background so represent the probe's color being different yet when the brain is focused on something else it will get missed. Once I force the player to change the view of focus, they will have trouble seeing pylons being built even if they see it in their peripherals. I hope this helps you get inside my minds eye.

" *WIDOW MINES* could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this matchup before. There could be *widow mines* anywhere." The cool AC felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE *widow mines* " he thought. 'Sweet Dreams are Made of These' reverberated his entire apartment, making it pulsate even as the $4 Monster Energy circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of burrowed AoE units. "With Recall, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.

ok this might have been on the older patch, but now that i think about it there might actually be some merit in not upgrading cyclone speed hear me out, the main thing about cyclones is getting a target and then run away from it while staying a certain distance away, so it can fire while moving while the opponent can't do the same, and what u want the most is to stay on this perfect distance for as long as you can. now, i don't play much SC2 other than direct strike, so i'm not rly aware of how fast unupgraded cyclones are compared to other units, but in theory if u don't upgrade speed it'll take u a lot less micro to do the cyclone hit and run, because it'd stay in range of the enemy for longer, and if u were trying to chase an enemy it'll take u even less micro, because when chasing u need to be really careful of not entering the enemy range, if u have the fast cyclone it'll enter into enemy range much faster when chasing and it'd be much easier to lose the targeting when running away, so there might be a world where slow cyclones do better than fast cyclones micro-wise (i feel like this would be much better in lower elo, since pros have the micro to do as well with fast cyclones, all while having the speed to disengage and then move to strike at a different location)
@TriangleChloros Жыл бұрын
Unupgraded, cyclones have speed 3.94. That's fairly fast, and means they outrun immortals (3.15), but not stalkers (4.13), zealots with boots (4.725), or warp prisms. So you might be able to outrun the bulk of the opponent's army, but you have basically no way to avoid taking hits from gateway units the whole time, and can have issues with immortals in transports. Meanwhile, the upgrade increases speed to 4.73, meaning that zealots and stalkers need to use their activated abilities to catch up, and that immortals can't catch them at all.
@69Darkthor Жыл бұрын
Is in an older patch, cyclones have 120 in the video (33:30), and it was changed to 110 and the movent speed from 4.73 to 3.94. So is playing with the tanky, fast but expesive cyclone that doesnt have the speed upgrade but had a damage upgrade to increase the lock on from 400 over 14s to 600 over 14s

Florencio is NOT the best SC2 player, BUT I think he's the most ingenious player. Name another player who's invented more GENUINELY new strategies that make you say, "I've never seen anything like that before." Regular players win by understanding & executing the established rules better. Florencio wins by throwing away the rules and breaking your brain

Cutting mustard refers to cutting the mustard plants. You need a sharp scythe to cut the mustard. If your scythe is dull, then it won't "cut the mustard." So, something "cuts the mustard" if it works for its intended purpose.

all of that rambling and the first thing I feel the compulsion to "um actually" at is the comment on starcraft weapons? weird...welp! Ummmm, actually: the Terrans primarily use kinetic-slug weapons, usually propelled with some manner of MAC/Gauss system working in tandem with one or more additional method(s) of imparting energy, usually either good old explosive propellants or some manner of turning a portion of the mass of the projectile into a plasma rocket. the only silly lazor weapons the terrans use are on the wraiths and, well, we know how well those work (though apparently the lore version hits a *LOT* harder, they just have fire rates so bad as to be measured in minutes per shot instead of shots per minute. it is effectively a reusable bomb...pretty much exactly what they show in the SC1 cinematics really...I'd guess making it an alpha strike ability or even a microable super-slow autoattack was deemed imba in playtesting? don't actually know the story on that one) turns out even when you can make fusion generators small enough to fit them in hand tools lasers are just straight up BAD at energy efficiency...I think some versions of battlecruisers might have some in their point defense systems? there was something else actually genuinely neat that I'm forgetting now what was it...oh! right! the reason Ghosts are carrying around those giant-ass guns is specifically so that they can use larger slower projectiles: almost all terran weapons are well into the hypersonics, even the Marines' mass produced bang-for-your-buck focused rifles are shooting tiny little 8-mil flechette darts at something like mach14 meaning the roughly a rifle bullet worth of mass they are throwing has about the same energy-at-muzzle-exit as a cold war era tank's main cannon and one of the unfortunate side effects of that is that when your bullet is hitting the air hard enough to set it on fire *every* round is a tracer round. Ghosts _can't_ have that happening so they get these giant ass low-muzzle-energy subsonic high explosive grenade launchers that are like 80% muffling systems instead. the one I really don't get is the protoss, I get that protoss tech is supposed to be BS spacemagic even by the standards of the BS spacemagic setting but even for them lasers are terrible weapons...the colossus is designed for comitting genocide against completely unarmored targets on as massive a scale as possible and does not care about efficiency in the least and the thing the void rays shoot isn't so much a laser as some weird psi-beam nonsense so I guess those get a "meh, sufficient to get a hand-wave" pass but apparently they kinda use them _everywhere_ in their non military tech too and I never did see an explanation for that, like, not even a "yes, this is yet one more dumbass thing they were doing for religious reasons" note.
