The island of Flores in Guatemala is a must-visit spot if you're making your way to this amazing country. We are now in the heart of the Maya World.
Most people use Flores, as just a jumping off point to explore Tikal. Flores is the capital of Petén . Peten which is the largest department in Guatemala. It was on this island that the Maya established NojPetén, their final stronghold in the face of the Spanish conquest. The town of Santa Elena is located on the shores of Lake Petén Itzá, and it is connected by a causeway to the island. San Benito is next to Santa Elena. We will try local food on the waterfront of the causeway, wander through the Santa Elena Market, and search for the best place in San Benito, to see the island of Flores from afar. Come with us, as we look for the hidden gems, of Flores.

Flores Island is such an incredible beautiful place I see they have the skittles looking buildings nice concept the lake that runs along the mountain side is so enchanting and waking up every day an seeing the beautiful lakes has to be such an amazing experience I would love to have that view every day they are so lucky to live their witytravels thank's for sharing this absolutely stunning place called flores guatemala !!!

Choco Banana looks interesting..the market was huge and full of options..i really liked that plain looking black color back pack. Stunning sunset view from that sunset bar restaurant. Also . loved that boardwalk ..awesome content overall

Choco Banana was a good find! Delicious and low price. Yea, don't need to go around promoting other brands for free. We like it cause it looks cool and stylish. We weren't planning on visiting the sunset bar but we are glad we did. The views were great. Thank you so much Adi!

Looks like a very quiet and peaceful place! I've never heard of a latte that doesn't come with coffee, I'm super curious how it would've tasted with the espresso added to it. A couple of beers and a sunset is always the perfect way to end a day of exploring in my book!

Very peaceful! But they also have bars and restaurants. Probably gets more going at night. Latte without coffee was a first for us too. We know Starbucks has a few frappacinos without coffee, but those are more dessert anyway. Not the original plan, but can't complain about (ice cold) beers and sunset! Thanks!

This looks like a beautiful area, love the little coloured houses but those floods are a bit concerning. Looks like it has the potential to flood people's houses when it's really bad - hopefully I'm wrong though. That Chocolate banana covered in peanuts looks AMAZING!! That's breakfast sorted then!! I really enjoyed your walk through that covered market, place looks incredible and the prices were very reasonable. Ha yes that green and red one was a bit bright, perhaps you could use that if you're planning on some late night hiking - did it come with a spare battery? 😂. I think I would have just added the espresso shot but after hearing the drink tasted like a lime soda that may have been the wrong decision. Love the exploring at the end and how you found that sunset bar, shame the sun didn't come out to play but watching the clouds roll through whilst supping on a local beer is the next best thing!

We don't think the water floods into the house or businesses, but still concerning. It's funny, we also had a choco-banana in Antigua. But we got it at a pharmacy. They had the banana in the freezer and they dipped it in chocolate and toppings. It was such a random service for a pharmacy to offer! I would imagine that bright backpack comes with reflectors for your bike and road flares. Pretty sure the backpack is solar powered! 😂 We know at Starbucks there are frappes without coffee, but having lattes without coffee is a new find for us. But it was so good! Without the espresso at least. It's been great here during rainy season as everything is at its maximum "greenness". But has made finding an amazing sunset really tricky. We still enjoyed ourselves; and the beer was the most affordable we have found. Which is extra surprising because it was ice cold and with an incredible view. Thanks Matt!

is all the street food premade so no adjustments can be made on how much sugar/salt be used? which hotel is that you stayed in flores? i will be going in a month. did you guys fly from Guatemala City to flores or bus it?

Street food is served as they want to make it. The food we showed in the video was already made when we got there. We stayed at Hotel Del Patio. It was great. Had a pool, decent wifi, all things considered. We flew from Guatemala City. Would not recommend the bus. Thanks for the comment!
