Look into the story of Ivan Milat where a backpacker called Paul Onions needed to flee from him, flagging down a passing motorist while he was being shot at. A selfish act by this passing motorist saved his life. I would call that passing motorist in Paul Onions case as heroic . How would the driver in this situation know what had preceded the encounter? Hindsight is 20/20

I was under the impression that most if not all newer cars had central locking on them, with some engaging when you go over a certain speed, and others engaging when you take the car out of park. Heck, my 2006 Saturn Vue had that, it would automatically lock the door as soon as you started to move.

When they pulled into the main street the cop was arriving maybe 100 foot behind them We told dispatch and the officer pulled them over.
