The guy knew he was guilty and that his verdict would be guilty. He stayed out of prison for as long as he could, which was up to the start of the trial. So, he's not taking responsibility in the true sense. He is just accepting and inevitable outcome, and avoiding having his past actions being exposed to the World. What I would want to know are all of the names of the contacts from whom he bought his "illegal" drugs in exchange for any kind of consideration/plea, because all are responsible for these deaths.
