Awesome job Austin! I know the pain you went through when you pulled the trigger and the gun didn't go off. I live in PA and our Muzzle Loader season is flintlock only and it starts Dec. 26 and runs for about 3 weeks. January 1, 2015 I had a small 10 point at about 40 yards. I pulled the trigger and nothing happened. Surprisingly he didn't hear the click so he didn't run. I checked the powder in the pan, calked the hammer again, and prayed it would go off. The 2nd shot went off and 30 minutes later I found him.

Avid deer hunter in Texas. My answer to the question about the young buck is that it all depends on the herd and the goal. If he has traits you want to continue on the ranch, let him live. If he doesn’t show promise for where your goals are, pan fry the fella. The balance of management is ranch to ranch. If you need another shooter just holler, I can be there in about 14 hours. Never hunted Florida before but I plan on hunting the whole country before my time is up.
