This guy is actually my hero. I think his mistake was the jammer shouldn't have been able to reach more than about 40ft from his car. That was his mistake. Also common sense dictates that he should have only used it intermittently, and shut it off intermittently for a few days or a week at a time.
@OpenCarry2024
@OpenCarry2024 Жыл бұрын
@@Kokuyous3kithat's where you are confused. A cell phone jammer would most likely only jam the 4G LTE or 5G systems. I don't know if you've ever noticed but you can put a destination in on your phone in a location where you have service, BUT not where you DON'T have service. However you can put it in when you have service and drive where you do not have service and it's still continues to properly navigate you. So unless somebody was trying to put an address in while sitting next to his car they would have been fine. No normal average guy has the money or ability to get ahold of a GPS jamming device. that would be an extremely expensive military-grade piece of equipment. It would most likely only jam texts and phone calls etc. Also AS PER 3 different state troopers that I know PERSONALLY - ninety-plus percent of emergency calls done on the highway are worthless and time wasting. Not to mention this guy was trying to prove a point, I seriously doubt he would have left people's phones jammed if he saw a bad accident. Seeing as though saving someone's life had nothing to do with the point he was trying to prove etc. Am I condoning what he did? Not really no I am NOT. Although I do find it kind of hilarious, because my 35 minute commute is regularly extended due to completely unskilled morons on their cell phones. So although it brought me a little bit of joy hearing this story, I definitely wouldn't partake in this type of action. I also seriously recommend nobody else do it either. You don't use it all the time, just the few moments when you see an irresponsible driver using their phone while driving, next to you. Do it at a red light, if you can. That would be safest for all concerned. You can buy the parts at Radio Shack and there are instructions online about how to solder it together. I saw a weekend teen invention show on PBS (of all places!), and they made their own and said the instructions are online. I never got around to looking at it. Per the FCC: "The use of a phone jammer, GPS blocker, or other signal jamming device designed to intentionally block, jam, or interfere with authorized radio communications is a violation of federal law. There are no exemptions for use within a business, classroom, residence, or vehicle. Local law enforcement agencies do not have independent authority to use jamming equipment; in certain limited exceptions use by Federal law enforcement agencies is authorized in accordance with applicable statutes." Not even local police are allowed to use them. Beyond all of the problems with emergency services, (and legitimate cell phone users,) this shit can fuck with ATC ground radar. No way the government is just gonna let civilians own devices that suddenly make it impossible for airports to even SEE incoming planes. That's basically a recipe for easy domestic terrorism in an off-the-shelf package. Dude is definitely lucky he didn't get a felony charge for this kind of irresponsible bullshit. Not paying attention to your own vehicle is reckless. Shutting down radio signals in a roving area? That's just a military attack strategy. No fucking reason whatsoever to have that shit in your car.

@@daveslamjam you also forget that his jammer blocks all emergency services too. Imagine if he got into a situation like a pile up crash, got knocked out, yet his jammer was still working. No one will be able to call for help.

Or they could just ask people to set their phones on silent and refrain from using them during the movie. A novel idea, and actually getting people to think of others might be a tad difficult, but....

Fun fact. If this man had filed a formal complaint to the police, saying that he saw A LOT of people on their cell phones, while driving, through those 2 years, they would have fined a lot of people through that time. Still, that man doesn't got the right to do what he did. If he did it in his own house at home, while having guests, without interfering with any neighbouring houses, I could support him...but not like this.

@@MotoDash1100If you're driving to a different place you haven't been before, which happens pretty often with a variety of delivery jobs (both long range and short range), then you're going to want GPS. Because street signs only help if you know which streets you need to go on; and i dunno about you but i haven't memorized literally every road and all the addresses in my country, and have no intention of trying to either.

@@MotoDash1100 because you're going to memorize all the turns when going somewhere you've never been? Give me a break. Also, if I'm meeting someone somewhere and need to tell my phone text the person to bring something important it sounds much safer to do that than to have to maneuver off the road just to make a five to eight word text that can be done without even looking at the phone. Or even to just tell my phone to call the person foe 8 seconds.

@@MotoDash1100what a silly thing to say. Even before GPS and cellphone apps, people still asked local citizens for directions back when paper maps were being used for navigation. If anything, there are new roads and streets every year because of new construction snd projects.
