In catholicism when the priest blesses the communion, it is considered just that, the body of christ, and if you have not went through the proper sacraments It is considered to be the absolute most disrespectful thing to take it without going through those proper sacraments. It is considered sacred. And when the body of christ isn't properly taken. The priest is personally responsible to respectfully dispose of it. He is the only one to do so. Priest are very serious about the sacraments. There are stories of priest going to prison because someone confessed something, and the court wanted to know what the individual confessed. But the priest didn't say due to the severity of upholding the sacrament of confession. If the woman was trying to snatch the eucharist from the priest, he is only doing his job by not letting her disrespect the body of christ. At my church before communion the priest gives a warning to people who have not a clue what to do, to not take the eucharist if they are not catholic and have not received the sacrament of communion.

Communion in some churches is extremely sacred. The wafer, not cookie is the body of Christ not a representation . The priest was doing her a favour. If she is a girl dressed as a boy trying to be a boy she is taking it un worthily and can be cursed. Sounds weird but read your Bible's and you'll see. If you are not serious with the Lord and take it in worthily and not caring you can be cursed that's why he was so protective of her and the body of Christ . Mild dissertation: barring some of the other issues that plague the Catholic Church, the priests and parishioners that truly stand for the truth, have very strong convictions about understanding why you take and receive communion. Now i strongly disagree with the lack of wisdom displayed by the priest; However, as a Priest of the Catholic denomination, he does have right of refusal. What i would encourage people who are trying to get their relationship with God on straight to do is learn the differences between denominational & non-denominational churches first. Pray about which one or where you need to be AND that God will put the right people in your path to assist you in learning about Christ and studying the bible. If your heart is truly set on learning about God, I promise you, God will set you up to win. Lastly, the wafer (not cookie) is actually unleavened bread which signifies the body of Christ, while wine or Kosher grape juice represents His blood. If your goal is to show up to a church or cathedral just to be arbitrary (which i have witnessed as well), that will also become clear, so be mindful of intent because noone, least of all God, likes a mocker.
