Thanks for the video Tampa Jay. My father in law had a surgery back on 3/5/24. He had to go on a liquid diet 24 hours before his surgery and so he and I ate at Cracker Barrel for breakfast on 3/4/24. He passed away very unexpectedly on 3/6/24. 😢 Cracker Barrel will always remind me of having his last meal before passing away… He hadn’t been to Cracker Barrel in decades and he really enjoyed the atmosphere and food, which is something I’ll always remember. He was more than a father in law, he was my hero. I’ve been with my wife since 1986 and I always looked up to him.

So sorry to hear this. I am glad you had that memory with him though. I had a similar experience with my nephew. I took him to eat at a Craker Barrel not long before he went on a trip and had a heart attack and died. He was so precious, just had turned 50.

Loved the Cracker Barrel show. My late wife Karen and I always stopped there for breakfast on our way from Panama City to St Petersburg to visit our son and his family or Karen's mom in Punta Gorda. All the times we stopped there we had no idea it was Florida's first Cracker Barrel. Last time we were there was June 2023 when we were going to St Pete for our grandsons fourth birthday. I have made the trip alone three times since she passed away in November 2023 after a nineteen-month battle with cancer. I have not been able to bring myself to stop there since she passed. Your vlog brought back a lot of good memories. Thanks for sharing. Maybe I will try to stop next time I make the trip.

Just scrolling through the comments, and it's really touching to to see how many people have memories connected to Crackle Barrel and all the other restaurants you do in your food series. Restaurants are more than just a place to eat, nostalgia, family, connection, it all runs deep! ❤

I have been to that Cracker Barrel multiple times when passing through on the way to the panhandle. I had no idea it was the first in Florida. My husband and I went to FSU from 1971-1973 and it was not there then. I think the first time we ate there was in the mid 1980's. My son was in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and attended Encampments at Eglin AFB in the 1990's. On the way home one year we came upon an accident and stopped to render aid before the EMS got there. My son even helped carry the young man who was hurt to Life Flight. A few other CAP members stopped to help, and we agreed to meet in Tallahassee to eat at the Cracker Barrel. That was memorable. By the way, my fav meal there is chicken & dumplings, corn & carrots. My hubby always gets breakfast. I love perusing their gift shops. They used to have books on tape you could sort of rent and bring back when done and get a deposit back. That worked really good for us for long trips.

I absolutely love Cracker Barrel! When traveling up or down the I-95 corridor, I make it a point to eat there as much as possible. Good food at reasonable prices. Plus they carry all kinds of candy not normally found in other chain stores. Thanks for the tour! BTW, those rocking chairs at the entrance,... I have one of them on my covered deck! Also, get honey for your biscuits!

Our dim-witted and clearly ignorant mayor recently made a no-so-subtle racist remark about white suburban folks eating at "Cracker Barrel." Well, I can tell you, we ALL love Cracker Barrel. It was actually suggested to the nit-wit he give it a try as it's great food and great for families. Thank you for showing this episode and the previous "haunted" episode with Cris. I love it there! Well done!
