I fish this same area every single week and always, consistently catch nice reds and trout. It would have been interesting to fish it in the 50's and 60's to see it in its prime. I see it as an excellent fishery today but I have no basis for comparison since I've only been fishing it for the past 15 years. I've heard lots of stories though and wish I could see it back to its former glory.

I've been fishing this area for 41 years, and agree with the remarks about overall depletion of the entire stock ... smaller trout, smaller flounder (too many taken by gigging), and lets not mention the depleted access to areas....example, I cannot walk to the south jetties at my age so the state park has eliminated a prime fishing spot...sell a few passes for fishermen to drive there if you must....and access from A1A down to Marineland now greatly restricted by guard rails and no parking signs, no access to the Matanzas Inlet unless you can hike and carry gear, and pitiful boat ramps such as Butler.....why do we not have a facility along the lines of Bings in the south end of the county? Lets Improve water quality by assisting homeowners to switch over to sewer lines rather than bleed them financially with costly permits to abandon septic systems....yes we are one of the fastest growing counties, but being denied access to the great natural resources should not accompany growth. Lets get intelligent instead of looking for more property taxes and parking revenue.

Noble premise, EXTREMELY important points, but the show just seems to be in slow motion...hard watch. Not just this episode, but all of them I've seen so far. It's not a bash, because preservations is so important to all of us, but the show flows like molasses.
