Our defense looked pretty weak in the first half too. The bad angles and rushed tackling leading to missed tackles and bad plays in the backfield was ugly. Definitely gotta clean that up.

Michigan typically starts slow. They are a stronger second half team as their physicality wears on teams.

Hopefully it gets addressed soon. I'm not panicking though, I'd rather not peak in September so this gives us room to improve and a reason* to stay focused.

Unfortunately that wasn’t Michigan struggling. That’s actually how our offensive gameplan looks. It’s like watching paint dry. We simply refuse to break tendencies and throw the ball more when the D is expecting us to run the ball. We’d rather prove a point. We don’t care about being predictable. That works in most matchups but against top teams outside the B1G not so much.

Eh, Michigan definitely started off slow and underwhelming but Rutgers doesn't look like their usual Buttgers self this season. They don't look great but they definitely don't look bad. I will say that Michigan was taking some bad angles, rushing tackes on defense causing big plays to happen, didn't love the soft coverage all game, and the offensive line looked soft for the first half or so. There D Line got a decent amount of pressure on the Rutgers QB but he was getting rid of the ball fairly quickly and running the read option pretty well. All in all, not thrilled with the performance, definitely have some things to work on, but we handled Rutgers just fine in the 2nd half.

Michigan needs more receivers to get open consistently than Roman Wilson. Fred Moore, Darius Clemons, Tyler Morris, & Cornelius Johnson need to step up because when Wilson ain't open the passing game sucks ass.

@@Ed.01 Absolutely. Everybody is high on the gators because of 1 win against a likely overrated Tennessee team. They should not be ranked imo, and I would certainly give the nod to FSU over them. I just don't think FSU is a top 4 team. They struggled against BC, and Clemson. Granted both games were on the road, but I'd expect a top 4 team to destroy either one of those teams.

@dddalton23 Florida State didn't run a big portion of their offense because the Quarterback has a hurt shoulder. We didn't run rpo and rro because even if you hand the ball off the quarterback still gets hit. That's like the whole offense, everything runs off rpo. Name one top team that can ditch their main offensive strategy and go into Clemson and still get the win.
