This format worked well. More than just your gut feel but not analyzed to the nth degree. I love when you have to hide your disgust and disappointment over the knuckleheads in the chat. You have more restraint than me, that's for sure. Great effort, I appreciate you. Go Noles!

The problem I have is why is a True Freshman RB even put in that position by Norvell? Why is Toafili, your senior RB or Jaylin Lucas not catching that pass? He needs to stop with the Hockey line shift crap.

GT had continuity and we didn’t. It showed. Half our guys looked shaken up the entire time. I can’t say the same for the vets on GT. Totally different team than last year!

Definitely agree with Bud about the factors that go into good personnel and the Mickey Andrews analogy. It's like Martin Sheen in The Departed with "Do you want to appear to be a cop?" With what I watched on Saturday it was "Do you want to be a good team or do you want to APPEAR to be a good team?"

I agree, they needed a loss like this to force Mike to make staff changes

Spot on with the Randy take. So many fans before the season were so dismissive of the Wallace miss. Secondary is great bc new coach improved HS recruiting and growth of players. LBS need a change and need one now.

GT ran plugs a few times, but ultimately the safeties played tight to the LOS. But 2-high press quarters can still fit in 9-man spacing when needed. Like you said Bud, FSU certainly needed more RPOs to counter act the LBs and Safeties flying downhill.

This team will look good by week 3 or 4. These are mostly first year starters. I think the talent actually kept this from being a blowout. A kick in the last second from a foe that played flawless is not the end of the world.

Jacoby was touching my soul with that real talk, and the fact that we don't have any NFL guys on our staff is probably why we keep losing recruits in the 11th hour

Bud, it doesnt matter if they have played together anymore, because they get paid lots of $$$, show up and show out, no excuses!! This is the issue with taking the $$$, higher expectations!!

One thing I don't buy is all this "well they have a lot of new guys." Well they also have a lot of returning veterans who are supposed to show them how things are done along with the coaches. Georgia Tech lost their starting TE for the season and the back-ups, who were JAGS that GT plucked off the Transfer Market all they looked like all pro's against FSU. How can their coaching staff in one off-season, get guys to be that in tune with their offense and defense, but FSU in their 5th season with their Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator, are still having veteran players not knowing how to run block and still picking wrong gaps on a consistent basis on defense? I was told we were choosing elite coaching over just having mercenary recruiters on staff, seems like we are skewing the wrong direction there.

I think GT is better than i’m giving them credit for. The linebackers seemed like guys who have not seen enough to trust their eyes and trigger correctly. I did not get to see the safeties very much. The defense will improve. WR is a spot that has to get better. I think that you could have ran the same plays and got the same result by playing Brock or Luke at QB. DJ has to be better down field. It’s week zero. Lot of games left. They will improve.
@the_blue_chicken2 ай бұрын
Bud, you said that 2 years in a system really improves QB play. If that's the case, why didn't they play Brock or Luke so they can be ready to go when your young players from the latest recruiting class are, hopefully, taking those first team reps that are better prospects than the ones you have on the roster currently.

Drop ball, missed assignments happen when you play an opponent in football. It’s usually the team that makes the least mistakes that wins. Now tell me something? If this happened to Jimbo what would you be saying now!

Bro, you guys deserve 100% credit for a great game. We FSU fans can talk about how our guys didn't do this or that, or we can hypothesize about what is going on with our performance and what it all means. But one thing is for sure, your guys played great, they played hard, they clearly have practiced and prepared great, and they deserve to be the reason we lost. I have nothing but respect for yall and I hope you crush this year! Repeat 1991 baby! Get it!

I forgot who said it but essentially DJ couldn’t start at Clemson, Your starting running back and “best” receiver couldn’t start at bama. How could you expect this team to be elite when your best offensive talent would be backups on other teams

Saying DJ isn’t a bad Qb is just being too polite. He’s a below average passer and a dual threat in the worst sense of the word. He’s a literal statue back through, most Defensive ends on good teams are faster than him so he presents no real run threat. Bad part is there’s 3 years of film to support this but yall are choosing to ignore it. You can’t have a QB that’s a below average passer and a stiff runner.
