Living in a place for a year or even two doesn’t say much. You have metros that are so vast like NYC, ATL, DC, LA, Chicago, that you can live in your own comfort zone, and still not discover other areas for years.

I seen more of Montgomery and Alabama in one year than 90% of Alabama will in a lifetime because they don’t have time or money to travel all over like i did 😊

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGSit’s a very strange dynamic how you have wealthy thriving states adjacent to very poor low gdp states. Examples Florida and Georgia are prosperous with outlier smaller town areas within the state struggling but overall are in the top gdp, but right next door to Florida/GA is Alabama, which is like another dimension. Same with Maryland and Virginia being adjacent to West Virginia. Two states with too 25 gdp like GA and FL but right next door is a state at the very bottom. I’m from the DMV area and I noticed the contrast going in to Alabama immediately, but GA and FL are a completely different vibe.

@@neox9369Florida and Georgia Maryland and Virginia are democratic or swing states. West Virginia and Alabama are red states. Stuck in there own bible bet set of rules. When it comes to innovation and tech the 4 states mentioned above are light years ahead of states like Louisiana Mississippi New Mexico etc. It’s a couple of red states with very positive areas like northern Alabama and northwest Arkansas. I’m not a political person but the more blue the area the more prosperous. And yes crime does come with it.

Born and raised in St. Louis. Honestly our city is still recovering from the Mike Brown blackout. Sparked every gang war imaginable because the city was destabilized like Gotham city at the time, just no Batman’s to clean it up.. That’s really what spiked our crime rate and murder rate, which still has a domino effect today. it was wild before but I remember that being a major turning point back in high school. Anyway great video

Of all the cities on this list, I'll take Detroit. The city really is getting nice, especially the downtown district and out laying neighborhoods. Detroit Police reported as of late November 2023, Detroit's murder rate is down 18%. Detroit has a long way to go, but at least the effort is there and starting to show.

You need to understand the difference between municipal and state governments. The responsibility of running a town is not state government. If jobs were not exported to China and Mexico then poor towns would have those jobs. Towns collect the revenue for roads, schools, and infrastructure. The state is responsible for state projects including state roads. It does not help this country to have an open border. State government also supports hospitals, Medicaid, and colleges.

Your tax dollars are going to waste in Columbus, Ga if you are low to moderate income earner. Public safety-especially at night- has been completely eroded in the eastern and southern areas. You would think having one of the largest military bases next door would provide a blanket of security in this town but no, quite the opposite. Neighborhoods near Ft Moore are dangerous with frequent gunfire. East Columbus near Macon Road, Morris Road, Buena Vista Road and the Forrest Road area sound like a war zone at night. People who live within the confines of this terror will suffer from PTSD. Believe it!

I love your videos, but the depiction of Baltimore was painted with a a very broad brush. I assume it’s from not having spent time there. As a Baltimore City resident I will agree, we have a LOT of issues , but this City has a rich African American history, wonderful (free) festivals , great food scene, beautiful architecture. I could go on. I’m a middle class AA, who lives in a predominantly middle class AA neighborhood( Reservoir Hill). Most people in this community could afford to live outside the city, but choose to reside here, because it’s simply not as bad as you suggest. I encourage you to change your position about never stepping foot here. If you enjoy St. Louis, and Detroit. I promise you’ll have a good time here.
