Thanks for the video. Everything was clearly explained. I took mine to an automatic car wash months ago and I noticed my mirror popped out funny. Since then the controls didn’t work at all. Fast forward to last week and my glass was knocked out by a sign that had fallen in front of me in the middle of the interstate that I couldn’t avoid hitting. Replaced the mirror today and was able to reset the spinning white gears back into the slot with your video. Now everything works as it should! Would’ve probably paid an arm and a leg to have them service it at the dealership. Thanks again!

Thanks for the video. Got careless and caught my passenger side mirror on garage door track. Unfortunately, my issue was more significant than a dislocated servo screw ball/socket …the platform broke where it mounts to the motor housing. However your demonstration made it easy to dissemble and diagnose, then reassemble with the replacement motor. Thanks again!

thanks i will give this a try cause my mirror will not move side to side . the right side i think that sensor underneath is bad and i can't find a place to purchase one . they say it's air ambient sensor but that is behind my honeycomb grille , any ideas on this ???

I don't remember a sensor. I wonder if you could get a working one at a junkyard. Might be worth a shot. Good luck!

thanks it helped to fix my issue which wasn’t quite the same … the ball/ socket was still connected .. my issue was the L/R motor inside the housing was rusted and wouldn’t turn .. I forced it to turn by hand and sprayed with oil got it to where it turned easy and reinstalled and worked perfect..

Gotta love Ford nickel and diming customers even with simple features in a mirror. It'd probably be simpler and cheaper for them to just put heated mirrors and puddle lights on every mirror and cut down on the need to have a different wiring harness, but they'd rather force people into buying more options and higher trim levels.

I think my biggest disappointment with this truck was the 3.5 inch backup display. I replaced the whole thing with a 7 inch Pioneer head that does Google maps and backup camera. Now I love to ride in my truck.
