Great video gentleman. Rag Tag: I have a ten ounce silver Maple Leaf from 1998. Comes in a nice holder with a silver tag with a serial number. Are these popular in Canada? IDK what to do with it, have had it since 2008 I believe.

I started stacking about 10 yrs ago.My grandmother was selling her silver rounds to my brother and I for spot price. After that was gone I started picking up junk silver and then back and forth buying rounds and junk. Now I mainly buy ASE . Bought some gold also. You're off to a good start! With the ratio now 75-1, you are 'ahead' on gold, and will be even when you hit 70-80 oz. Then, when you buy another ounce of gold, you can still keep your own ratio going....provides protection for you for both silver and gold: keep an eye on the ratios at all times, I'd suggest

I began stacking 6 months ago and I just broke 106.5oz. I have five 5oz bars, 39 1oz philharmonics, and 55 morgan/peace dollars. I'm considering getting fractional silver in the form of pre 1965 dimes/quarters and war nickels next. I also keep all the copper pennies I come across as extreme fractional bullion for bartering if/when confidence in fiat is gone.

I finally understand why you prefer American coins. I live in Washington State and we do not pay sales tax on bullion and we do not have a state income tax so when I sell the coins I don’t pay any local tax either. I have mostly avoided ASE because the premium is too high. My first silver purchase was a tube of silver maple leaves and my next purchase was 10- 10oz generic.9999 silver bars.

Great collaboration. I found a local pawn shop that sold me Silver Eagles for $20 each in March. I turned them for a profit about a month later an purchased some Mexican fractional gold. So, I still don’t have 100 ounces in silver. But, I’m getting there. Mostly buying 90% at very low to no premiums. Thanks guys I enjoy both of your channels.

I remember clearly when (1980) I reached my body weight (200 lbs) in Silver, it made me realize that I really had to step up my game with more Gold. 200 pounds of Silver is bulky and you can't just put it in your back pocket and carry it around.

In Florida dealers must hold silver bars for 30 days. This is a reason why the premiums are not as high as eagles when you sell. Just thought you might want to pass the info on to others.

I enjoy I cool mixture of bars coins rounds and silver figures. . this might be a huge mistake of mine but I justify it the more I like it the more unlikely id wanna sell it . I do need to build more of a solid foundation of my stack because I got just a mixture of everything . thinking maples but everyone says silver eagles. I literally think the maple is simply a better coin 9999 fine and higher face 5 dollars compared . less premium then the Eagles . being I'm in the USA the maples might hurt me if I had to sell because I like them better so my strategy might need to be adjusted to start to like the Eagles more

Im a little over 100oz of silver and about an oz of gold after stacking for about 4 months. Ive got a wide assortment (poured bars, pressed bars, generics, foreign coins, and ASE) but now im focusing on american minted coins (ASEs, AGEs, and constitutional silver. Luckily here in Ga theres no sales tax on any silver, but I still like the US minted stuff for all the reasons you listed

this video just popped up in my feed. it’s 2 years old and that’s exactly what i used to do. 90%, eagles and american made bars (mostly silvertowne prospectors when they still had serial numbers on them) unfortunately since the premiums went up on both junk and eagles, i can no longer justify buying US minted coins in bulk. it’s ashame as those are my favorites. many of us were lucky enough to have built our stacks like that. now, it’s the queen and bars (king soon) and to think at one time i refused to buy the queen. no longer true

I have slowed down the last few months went hard earlier this year on eagles now buying vintage at generic prices. The premiums on eagles have shot up and now is the time to stack bars and anything generic price .25 to .50 premium. The spread on vintage locally has dissappeared as well same as generic. I have cut spending of around 450 a month by rolling my own cigs. This alone makes stacking easier for me at these higher spot prices. I would recommend cutting your monthly expenses and continue stacking as you were when spot was at 23. Instead of only stacking 1k a month i can go back to 1500. He also needs to buy on the dips to bring down his dca. With prices being eratic with silver you have to be able to change your stratedgy on a monthly basis. Sounds like he only bought eagles and high end pms cause that is the best to him. When i started stacking for over 3 years i didnt buy eagles until beginning of this year and now im not buying again. Sure i would like them but at the end of the day especially 1st starting you need to build a base. If he wouldve just dumped 4 k every month into 100 oz bars at .50 premium he would be ahead even if he started 3 months ago. Like i said i have slowed down a bit my stratedgy has been wait for it to go down below 30 and make a purchase been working for me the last few months.

I started with 90% junk silver and war nickels. These were by far the lowest premiums (if any at all on war nickels). I wanted to get the most fractional in silver as I could to start. After that I started picking up some silver rounds. Just recently picked up my first maples. I am not positive but my first 100 ounces may have actually been in war nickels (estimated silver weight based on 35% weight as silver). I am a about a year into it and am shocked at how this has helped me save money (real money that is) and how fun of a deep dive this has been daily for that long.

Back in 2019 you could regularly buy ASEs from your local coin shop for $2 - $3 over spot price. Now they are $10 to $15 over spot price. They do hold their value pretty well and are always in demand which is why I still stack 1 tube, maybe 2 each year. So 40 ounces out of the round about 300 ounces i try to stack.

It saddens me that seven years ago, I was well on my way to my goal of stacking my body weight in silver with 114 Avoirdupois pounds before unexpected job loss forced me to sell off 80% of my stack. It served its purpose, and leaves me with over 300 ounces. I was lucky in the respect that I bought most before the big runup and so didn't lose too much money. And, I retained the cream of the crop, at least in my opinion. The phrase "junk silver" annoys me. As a long-time coin collector, I don't consider any lightly circulated coinage JUNK, no matter how common. I was collecting for decades before I switched to stacking. Before selling, I spent many hours pouring over my 90% and holding back the best coins. A few of them could be considered collectible. Even among the coins I sold, VERY few of them would be considered JUNK to me.

I'm in Canada and new to stacking. My first 100 oz. is split 50/50 with Britannias and Maples. Recently a large box of Canadian 80% coins has been made available to me, so that is going to be my focus until I clean it out. I'll be picking up 60 oz. of them tomorrow. Mostly dimes and quarters. Thanks to all of the great videos, I was able to focus in the right direction for me.

That was an interesting argument for ASEs regarding how their premiums behaved in the past year. Easy to forget too as a new stacker that people stacked ASEs at low premiums before 2020.

I hope to hit 100 oz. by my 1 year stacking anniversary. I'm stacking junk silver hard in 2021. My stack is mostly Constitutional, ASE's, and 1 oz. coins and rounds. I have some premium coins - my v75 PF70 ASE, an Alaska Mint round, a 4 oz. round, and some slabbed coins. I love collectible coins but I stay away from them for now. After my first 100 or 200 oz. I may look more into purchasing some collectible coins. Stack On!

I own a considerable amount of CONTINENTAL coins. I don’t consider them to be junk. If or when the SHTF happens then you will wish that you had sovereign coins . BTW, ASE and “junk “ have the best premium returns then generic rounds plus they are way more liquid than bars or rounds.

Get some coins capsules. If the 1oz coins are not scratched and in good condition you'll always get a premium over spot if you sell them in the right place in the future and you can stick to one coin size and buy capsules in bulk. Shop around

Great choice. Stick to 2018 or newer or earlier without spots to ensure you keep the premium on-top of the spot with them. Once you hit 100 oz consider 10 oz silver bars or .25 ounce fractional gold.

I love all the Silver, spread all over the table for display. The variety is interesting. My only complaint is the same one I usually have, and that’s the complete overuse of the term “Picked-Up”, and any variation of it. We only pick up the coins (or bars) when we are holding them in out hand. When we come to own them, we “Buy” or “Purchase” them, and then when we take them home we can actually “pick them up”. Sorry, just drives me crazy, and believe me, it’s a short drive (ha-ha). OCD flare-up.

Man, I remember starting stacking when the pandemic first happened. First silver I got was from buying half dollar roles that youtuber would go through on live feed. It progressed fast after that. Now I'm over 300oz of silver, a little over 2.5oz of gold, and about 1/4oz of platinum. Think I'm done with silver for the year. If anything, I'm going to buy gold or platinum! Still can't believe how much I've gained since March of this year

Be careful for the tax man. There have been great deals but even I have to pull the emergency stop on myself because if you buy more than 10K in precious metals the tax mAn will come knocking 😩

Great stuff Florida and rAGtAG. Glad you differentiated between what works for the US V Canada. I'd love to talk through my thoughts on UK stacking. I love constitutional. But right now with the exception of my 90% State proof quarters that I am buying and getting delivered to my US address basically because I like them rather than the fact that are a good deal - US Constitutional is overpriced right now.

made a purchase that i wanted , probably not the best purchase but they are perfect . 440 bu 1964 kennedy half dollars . i'm sure there a good many high grades in the tubes ,they are perfect. now i'm focusing on generic rounds as close to spot as i can find , or the 1 oz generic bars .

My how things have changed! As much as I'd love to buy more ASE's, the premiums NOW on them, no way. I only buy one of each year to complete the ASE collection. Even junk premiums have gone up. Fortunately, I live in Oregon, where there is no sales tax on ANYTHING! Unfortunately, we pay more in property taxes to make up for it. I mainly buy generic rounds, bars and Canadian Maples/bars and Britannia Mint Coins/bars right now.

I buy online, I live in Florida, I bought coins from all over the world and I have never paid tax. I have bars and rounds too, some orders were only $100. Not sure where you are getting your information.

If i had a bunch of ASE's, i'd be converting them to cheaper silver and increasing my stack. In a shtf scenario, everything will go up and the premiums that were enjoyed on these coins will be gobbled up. As the saying goes, "Make hay while the sun shines".

I'm a newer subscriber to the both of these channels and somewhat of a newer stacker as well. I've been holding on to any 90% I've come across since about late 2000's just because I knew it had silver and had more worth than a regular dime or quarter. Only got to maybe 10-15$ face this way but it was all free! Been actively buying for a year now and a couple months ago broke my first 100 oz's and it was almost all 90%, ASE'S, and generic rounds. This was a great video for anyone not sure where to start!

My first silver was a tube of generics. It was by accident. It was at a Jewelry/Coin Shop who don't always have inventory. I then bought a bunch of Eagles. Was watching a lot of the early Silver Joker videos, following his strategy of buying 90%. I'd say the second 100oz is when I went off the rails a little bit, buying all the new releases from APMEX.

My local dealer buys ALL silver and gold. Foreign, he will pay you a percentage above "melt" which is fair. Never a hassle. He's been in the business for 40 years. He pays current "spot" price on .999 silver if you wish to sell. He will pay MORE on Eagles, and some foreign govt rounds. He is the only dealer in the area who actually sells some gold "at mel." He charges a 2% premium on it. He does this primarily as a way to get people introduced to gold buying.

Nice video! I just started stacking again this year. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with the high premiums you mentioned. I stacked back in the mid 2000s but had to sell off my holdings due to a family emergency. I realized a healthy profit of 100-200% profit at the time. This video applies directly to my current situation. I now have around ~120 ounces of silver and 3 ounces of fractional Gold (All 1/4 onces Maple Leafs, Philharmonics, and Eagles). I have pretty much followed the sovereign country approach. I am American and my wife is Canadian. With that in mind, I have about 70 ounces ASEs and 30 ounces Maple Leafs, 10 ounces silver bars (2x 5 ounces), 5 ounces Silver Philharmonics (lower premiums in Gold and Silver), and about 5 ounces in specialty silver collectable coins (Ancient Roman/Greek, Silver Dragon, John Wick). I have been considering buying "Junk" or "Constitutional" silver but don't know which denominations/coin condition makes sense. Any advice on that, Florida Stacker? Also, what are the tax implications of selling US coins in Canada, say my wife inherits my collection after I check out before she does (most likely scenario, statistically) and she returns to Canada? Any advice on that, RagTag? All that said, I am in for the long haul and am confident the value of my holdings will increase over time.

I just acquired my first 100oz with my recent purchase of 2-1oz Britannia to add to the other 5 I already have. So that is a big milestone for me. I plan on filling that 25ct tube for the Britannia coins. No use going half in. Lol. Thanks for info on my future silver purchases.
