Floridian Reacts to the Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer

I knew Vice City was going to be a fictional Miami, but seeing it was mindblowing. In all its glitz and chaos, the city already feels like home and I'm so excited to explore it with our protagonists.
The fact this was leaked was very unfortunate. I know that one person's bad actions won't dilute the excitement everyone is currently feeling toward what is sure to be another rockstar-level game from Rockstar Studios.

Oh lord 😂 as much as I love the unintentional comment farming from people upset about the word "cinematic," this is a cinematic trailer, as in it showcases cinematic sequences within the game- and yes, that includes cutscenes. What some of you mean to say is that this is "in-engine, not CGI" and I never said it was CGI. CGI and cinematic are not interchangable. Cutscenes are cinematics by technical definition. Anyway see yall in 2025!

Yeah, I'm about 90% certain it was in-engine. If you compare it to Read Dead Redemption 2's trailers, it's more than realistic for this to be in-engine, given that it's on current-gen consoles.

Yeah real time raytracing. U can even see when further objects come closer how the rays get more and more (the reflection become less grainy). Also every car mirror worked. U can see anti liasing on the women in the pool, so its 100% in engine

This game seems to have taken the GTA4 approach and gone with a realistic but slightly insane world. Only this time it's so real because Florida is America's Australia. The wildlife is insane and the people can be just as insane. If done well GTA6 could be one of the most realistic simulators of all time. We'll have to see.

Cutscenes are reffered to as "cinematics" even if they are in-engine. Also, cinematic is an adjective that would be properly used to describe the framing and editing of this trailer. Therefore, the GTA VI trailer is inarguably a cinematic trailer. Cynthetic is correct.

it reminds me of not bonnie and Clyde, but more of a tv show made back in the 2000's called Burn Notice by Matt Nix. filmed entirely in Miami. He was a burned spy (see fired) dumped in Miami to start over. pretty good show. we lived in Immokalee which is 30 miles from Fort Myers back in the 1980. we went back recently and it has changed a lot. living in Tampa Bay currently. I feel for the Rockstar team as well about the early leak. i hope they do something about it. i liked your video. i liked and subbed. looking forward to more.

As Cynthetic said in her pinned comment she simply meant it looked "cinematic". I think a lot of people forgot GTA has "cinematic camera" mode which was beefed up in GTA SA. It was definitely the reason why we got the majority of the shots we got in the in GTA SA trailer. Aside from the cut scenes that are clearly in this trailer, majority of this is probably filmed with "cinematic camera" mode during gameplay. Which is why it has that "cinematic" feel to it. So while yes, the graphics and everything is going to be how it is in real time, however if you want to try to get close to the shots you see in the trailer you're going to have to play in "cinematic camera" mode if you want the actual shots / feel of the trailer while playing.

Rockstar with games like LA Noire, Maxpayne 3, GTA5 and RDR2 did cinematic trailers then gameplay traolers close to launch. With games like Bully, Manhunt and the warriers they had gameplay trailers with some cutscenes in. Red dead 1 was when they started this style of trailer. On another note cant wait to see how they try to surpass the open world of RDR2 and looking at the leaks you can go prone which was a great feature in maxpayne 3.

Spot on with the words on leaking BUT. It’s already being highly talked that they are the ones that did the leak and then said “here ya go” I see them doing it. They don’t HAVE to market but they will, in ways like that because it’s a shock and then they end up giving it. To me it makes sense. The game will look the same as you see or even better. Any trailer you watch from them is what you get, or better by the time it arrives.

This game looks amazing! I just hope it can live up to GTA 5, which as my first GTA game holds a very special place for me even now. Rockstar doesn’t do anything but masterpieces (I even love LA Noire). As for RDR2, I’m STILL finding new things 5 years and countless playthroughs later. I know GTA VI will continue that trend. Totally random, but did anyone catch what song that was in the trailer? I love Tom Petty and have heard quite a lot of his work but not that particular one.

Everybody keeps missing the 2 tiger sharks in the rockstar presents shot of the beach & city. One can be seen swimming near a pod of dolphins & the other close to a swimmer or surfer a bit closer to shore. It almost looked like it was goin for the attack.

If you pause it you should be able to see it better.

I agree 💯 on Florida life. 813 Tampa Bay area. It's our definitely way of life. I mean I work a lot now but, going to mudhole parties, and dive bars with born to ride. On tv, always seeing some story about gators at front doors or the pools, bears & boa snakes also. I loved South Beach, it's an energetic & wild place

I feel like the leak had little effect. Rockstar was on top of it and just had to release the trailer hours earlier. I think most people didn't even see the leak, they found out after Rockstar's announcement and went straight to the official video. I know I did.

All GTAs have been released in September - October. Besides GTA 4 which was April. So chances are itll be 3rd or 4th quarter 2025 which is a bummer. Lets stay hopeful its 1st or 2nd quarter.
