HORRIBLE BRAND NEW Schindler 6400NA Traction Elevators at the Hotel Pur, Quebec City, QC

These are the TERRIBLE, NEWLY MODERNIZED Schindler 6400NA Elevators at the Hotel Pur, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Starwood, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. This place was originally a Holiday Inn, then a TRYP By Wyndham, and now the Hotel Pur by Starwood. Both times this property has changed ownership, the elevators have been modernized, and sadly, it looks like they desperately needed a mod, as according to tripadvisor, prior to the modernization, apparently one of the elevators here fell several floors and crashed at the bottom of the shaft, but with that being said, this new mod still SUCKS. These were originally Turnbull (Dover) Elevators with Square Buttons from 1972, then they got a Slap On Mod with Dewhurst in 2008, and then, this year, they got modded by Schindler with 6400NA. While these needed a mod, this mod unfortunately still has LOTS OF ISSUES. Notice how these have such LONG waits, but that's just a minor thing, one of these elevators has MESSED UP Doors ALREADY, and it died on me ON VIDEO!!!!! That is just SO PATHETIC being these were only a few weeks old when I filmed these!!!! The Service Elevator is still original, and was going to ask permission to ride it, but I decided not to as when I peaked in, the door nearly shut on me and CRUSHED me to death!!!!! With that being said, if any of my viewers are afraid of elevators, DON'T STAY HERE as these have a MIND OF THEIR OWN!!!!! Absolutely pathetic for a Newly Modernized Elevator......Starwood/Hotel Pur and Schindler, FIX YOUR ELEVATORS!!!!
Installed: 1972 (Turnbull [Dover] Elevators with Square Buttons)
Modernized:
1st Modernization: 2008 (Some type of Slap On Mod with I think, Dewhurst, Main Elevators only)
2nd Modernization: 2017 (Schindler 6400NA With MAD BS Moon Fixtures, Main Elevators Only)

NW Indiana Elevators it's not a matter of maintaining the elevators, it's how good of a job Schindler does installing the new mod. These were just modded. So this has nothing to do with the hotel

Honestly, in my opinion, these things are fairly nice, & aren't too bad. The door issues are just something that's going to happen during the 1st stages of a mod. But the wait times, yeah that's a different story. That's why destination dispatch was invented for a building w/ elevators like this, you should use it Marriott! But it could also be because of the door issues though.

The famous Wells Fargo Westys up here in Duluth that USED to have the pop-out buttons got this same mod. I've seen similar things happen on those. Sadly, they ran awesome right up until the mod.

HC EleFilms by Technicalboy3000 it's not the management. Schindler is the company who modded these so they are the ones to blame for this. They have to tell Schindler to fix this while they are still working with them

Lets be honest, you’re not the only one who rode buggy Schindler modded elevators. I rode a modernized haughton yesterday and when I tried to call an elevator after sending the other elevator up, although it went to my floor, IT LITERALLY DIDN’T STOP! It rudely passed my floor.

These things are mostly alright. The only issues are the long wait times and the left elevator. Also these were just modded and are brand new. You can't expect them (I'm not saying you are) to run perfectly especially if they are still in their installation process. There will sometimes be some situations to take care off with a newly modded elevator that is just modded (like the door)

As I thought! THIS is why we really ought to have either a Korean War veteran or a Vietnam veteran managing the hotel chains. That way chances of the elevators wouldn't have been modernized but restored to their former glory. No wonder TJElevatorfan prefers the Hilton Brand instead of Starwood. If I was maintaining these elevators, they would NOT be running badly like this.

I have not been fond of Schindler 6400 elevators. A lot of the hotels in Las Vegas use it and it is not pretty at all.

This is one reason why Schindler is my LEAST favorite elevator company. And worst of all, when one of the elevators fell down the shaft that you mentioned in the description, it appears that Schindler’s "Suspension Traction Media" belts appear to be a POOR quality elevator product, just like thyssenkrupp’s Kevlar ropes.

+anthony020501 On 3300 and 3100, the motors are small as heck but at least on 5500 the motor is bigger. Sadly, looks like Schindler 5500 at Tysons Corner Center starting to break down like constant. I've heard it broke down 2 times as Dan said for the first time and Elyse said for the second time.
