BRAND NEW 2021 Schindler 3300XL MRL Traction Elevators at The Aloft/Element Hotel Midtown, Tampa, FL

Filmed in February of 2021.
First things first, I want to wish Tyson aka AB Trains & Elevators a Very Happy 18th Birthday, and since his favorite brand of elevator is Schindler, I am dedicating this video to him!
These Elevators are located at a BRAND NEW Aloft/Element by Westin Dual Brand Hotel Property that just opened on January 30th, 2021! At the time I took this, this hotel and these elevators weren't even a MONTH old, and there were very few reviews for this place online!
I got to give HUGE THANKS to William aka Elevatorman227 for telling me about these!
All in all, these elevators and this hotel as a whole is very nice, and the elevators were pretty cool just like most 3300s, although these didn't have that 3300 "motor hum" that I've fallen in love with as I've ridden more and more of these. Nonetheless, this does seem like a pretty good installation, I can't quite tell if the 1 elevator on the Aloft side was broken or if it wasn't fully finished being installed but as you can see, Schindler guys were working on it!

They just installed a ton of new XL’s here in Columbus as a part of a shopping mall expansion at Easton town center. One of them actually was installed in the same shaft as a former dover, but it wasn’t a mod because they added 2 floors to the parking garage and expanded the shaft.

These are for sure 3300XL- a few things to point out that indicate this: 1. At 0:34, that in-car lantern, when used with the FI GS fixtures, is a sure sign of a 3300XL. 2. The motor on these sounds more like a 5500, but it looks like a 3300. 3300XL is basically a cross of the two. 3. If a Schindler MRL that looks like this has a capacity greater than 3500 lbs, it's a 3300XL. 4. If a Schindler MRL with FIGS goes 200 feet per minute, its a 3300XL. However, they can also go 150 FPM, which is the same as a 3300. 5. 3300s can get 12 stops with 15 openings; 3300XLs can get 13 stops with 24 openings. But yes, nice video of the first known set of 3300XLs in Tampa!

Interesting.... I had heard about 3300XL before, but I didn't know what the actual specs and differences between it and 3300 were aside from the cabs being bigger and/or having bigger capacities

I can tell by the door operator. These are 3300 XLs. These must be Tampa's first 3300 XL elevators. 3300 and 3300 XL are a little different. The door operator is different on 3300 XLs than normal 3300s. 3300 XLs have the door operator of a 5500. I also think 3300 XLs go a little higher than 3300s. Just throwing it out there.

Floridianelevators Wow Schindler made these elevators look like something out of Europe or Asia in general no floor passing chime which is very unusual but extremely nice and not annoying like 330A or Thyssenkrupp Aurora or Impulse either. 🤦🏻‍♂️😅

All newer Schindlers w/ the exception of 330A use the same design as Europe/Asia.

That's a 3300XL not 3300 it's a 3300XL with FIGS buttons

These are Schindler 3300 XLs. Basically if a 3300 and 5500 fucked, this would be the outcome. 5500 motor, door operator, speed, has a cross head. But it still has 3300 logic and still has the same 3300 design
