Oh my goodness what a sweet thing to say! I am blessed with good genes...my mother and grandmother both had good skin. My grandmother had beautiful white hair. I got some of that although mine is still dark in the back and has, alas, gotten thin over the years. I have two cousins who got Grandmas hair...pure white all over and so thick they can barely get a comb through it. Blessings, Marlene

Hi Marlene! I loved your video. It's ok that you bared your soul telling us your age. As far as I am concerned, with age comes much experience. You are young at heart and a very skilled sewist and stitcher. Now, behave yourself and don't do more than those few sneaky stitches. You don't want to slow down full healing. You were smart to use the time to organize. Looking forward to future videos. Waving hello from California.

Marlene!!! I just found your videos and I love you 😄 I wish you lived just round the corner I'd be stitching with you all of the time. I love all of your projects and your finishing ideas are fantastic. I can't believe you have the beekeeper I have wanted that since it came out but to order it here in England we get charged customs and then Royal Mail slap on an £8 admin charge so it would end up costing a small fortune, I will just have to stitch it vicariously through you 😊. I'm glad you enjoyed England. Oh and I love your accent and yes I do the talking in the accent thing you said as well 😂 keep up the great work I'm off to watch your next video.
@MarleneBush

Well I don't live around the corner but we can just be best friends in the virtual world. :) I love the Beekeeper too, mainly because my sister has bees. Or had bees. She lost hers this fall/winter for some odd reason - they just disappeared one day. But she will get more in the spring. And if you will remind me when I finish that one (and you'll have to remind me cause I'm 70 you know!) I'll gift/send it to you. I'll certainly never stitch it twice. Blessings, Marlene

Just found your videos. Enjoyed this first one very much. I'm sure by now your hand is much better. Will catch up with your other ones. I'm 61, so not very far behind. I have more stash than I'll be able to complete, I'm afraid. Happy stitching!

My hand is much better and I'm going for my last occupational therapy today. It's never going to be 100% but at least I don't have the pain any more and I'm grateful for that! blessings, marlene

Beautiful stitching! Love your creative finishes, the bags are fabulous. I've done about 10 project bags following Vonna's tutorial and the one I did incorporating a cross stitch piece like you have done is my favorite. Why not use them, right? My walls are full too. I'm a long time stitcher and just started quilting about 3 hrs ago. I've completed 5 and given them all away - time to do one for myself, right? I look forward to the next video and hope your recovery continues to go well. I would have a hard time not being able to use my right hand, but you're right, good opportunity to organize!

Cat Lover Flosstube is just a name put on videos particularly about cross stitching...probably to help stitchers find them a little easier when searching. If you do a search for my name (Marlene Bush) my video should show up. I'm the one with white hair. :) I've only made one video reporting on some things I'm stitching on. The quilted piece in my background is one I made years ago. I quilt and appliqué and embroider and cross stitch - add to that a little canning and a little dehydrating and my days are full!

Sounds fun! I like to sew and will watch any of your sewing videos as I am still learning. I also just started canning and Linda was one of the folks I watched and learned from. Thanks for you video!

You give me hope, I want to try doing a video,don't know if I can. We'll see and I am 74. Hope to see more videos, if you can maybe show some of your quilting. The one in back of you is very pretty.Your stitching looks very well done, can't wait to see more. We are in MS , where are y'all?

Lana Finch hi Lana, I'm in Arkansas...not terribly far from you. The piece behind me was done many years ago and is a favorite of mine because it is one of the few I was able to hand quilt. Arthritis made it just too hard to do hand quilting so all I do now is by machine. I also love embroidery and wool appliqué but right now, because of the surgery, all I can do is a stab stitch. But hey, at least I can still stitch! 😀 blessings, marlene

I'd send it to you but I already gave it away. It was a free pattern if you bought the button pack, which was from JABC. I bought it from Cecilia's Samplers in Branson, MO so you might call them to see if they still have it. I think it was about a year ago. I'm going up there next week so I'll look while I'm there if you'd like. :) Blessings, Marlene

I loved the video, you've made some beautiful bags and have lots of lovely projects. I can't believe you are 70, you have such beautiful skin! What's your secret? I've always wanted to go to England, my mother went and said she felt like she was going home, everything she loved was there and she didn't want to leave. I will be looking forward to your next video, I don't make them but watch lots and comment often. I am on Instagram as. Carolyndawn60 if you would like to see what I've been up to. There are so many stitchers there who show their work and progress, lots of floss tubers and stitchers from Facebook groups. Happy stitching🙋🏼🤗🇨🇦

jillipepper5353 thank you so much! The skin is genetic...both my grandmother and mother had beautiful skin. Someone once told me if you have oily skin you will wrinkle but dry skin doesn't. I was never so grateful for dry skin. :). I'm afraid I don't do Instagram. I tried it once but just couldn't get the hang of it. I'm pretty tech savvy, well, for my age that is. But my blog and Flosstube are stretching it for me! Blessings, Marlene

Great video. I am interested in your recovery as I have arthritis myself. Where in the South are you? I just adore the piece with the scissors....I do have kind of a scissor fetish. I have been wanting to do a Rosewood Manor for a while so I will check it out. That quilt behind you is just lovely. I am doing the Bee Keeper myself and am really enjoying it....however, I am not crazy about the stiffness of the linen.

Suzy I live in Arkansas and saw the most wonderful hand surgeon in Little Rock, Dr. THomas Frazier. My therapists here are impressed with his work, as am I. I will not regain full use of my middle finger but the thumb is already better than before the surgery. The best part is no more pain in those two joints...they were bone on bone and excruciating. I could not make a fist with that hand before and still can't but am much closer to doing it than before and still have six more weeks of therapy. The therapy is painful but I'm a "tough old broad" according to the young therapy people. They think I'm a hoot. :) Are you anywhere close to me? Blessings, Marlene
