I live in an agricultural area on the east coast and the way I tell a purple Martin from other starlings and blackbirds at a quick glance is the fact that they NEVER land! They seem so busy all the time. And it's normally 3-4 flying together at all times. I don't think I have seen a grackle! So in love with bird talk 🥰

Oooh. Taboo Kitty and Moonstruck Manor go so pretty with Spooky Gate. You have totally inspired me to delve into the smalls and start making one a year for each of my kids for Christmas. I really want them to each have something Ive made for them as a tradition. I knit and crochet so they've got hats, blankets, mittens, but this would be so awesome.

I always look forward to your videos. Fun finishes and progress. Your scars will heal with care and hat wearing. Spouse had the mohs at his temple and I treated it as directed. You would have to look hard to find the spot. Make sure you protect from the sun. Gobble, gobble.

Absolutely loved seeing your backyard in what for you is fall. The trees are gorgeous! I'm in Spring, yet it's still very much like winter. I loved the bird cards at the end too! So fun😄 As for the projects, well, I'm always so intrigued about people who celebrate Halloween too. I didn't grow up with it, and usually seeing RIP brings about a feeling of deep reverence and honor, and I found it difficult to make light or fun of it, yet I'm also happy that people can see that side of it. Also seeing spiders makes my skin crawl, so I was just blown away when you weren't even remotely bothered by them at all. It's all so strange how people love that eerie, deathly feeling too. Anyway, it's great to see that people are so diverse and can enjoy and have fun with the thought of the deceased (and dying/being dead? I'm not sure how it works). All in all, a wonderfully fascinating watch! Thanks again!

Thank you for stopping by to say HI! Enjoy your upcoming Spring! I completely know where your coming from with Halloween and know MANY people that just don't like anything about it, let alone celebrate it. I think it's hard when you don't grow up with the spooky and often very morbid aspect of Halloween, All Souls Day, All Saints Day, Day Of The Dead, etc. I see it as a way of honoring the dead and accepting that we all end up there in the end. It's hard to explain, but ever since I was a young child, I absolutely loved everything that lead up to the holiday and just the 'FEEL' of it in the air. The excitement of my mom making our costumes, the window decorations, visiting the pumpkin patch for the perfect pumpkin, the warm glow of jack-o-lantern, haunted houses, the costume party/ parade at school, and of course the Trick-orTreating for Candy! All of it interspersed with the cool crisp air, changing of the leaves, caramel apples, the first snowfall, and a warm bowl of soup! Now as an adult, I enjoy the whole nostalgia of it all and the warm memories of days gone by! As for spiders....you're right, they don't phase me at all! I think they're kinda cute ( unless I look at them too close, lol!)

I really enjoyed seeing all of your Mill Hill kits. I loved seeing the ones you finished. Your Halloween tree with your felt ornaments was really cute. Thanks for the frame tip from the Dollar Tree. I also love the bird cards you show. Purple Martins nest together in communities and they love to chatter to each other. To me they look more blue than a blackbird and they eat LOTS of mosquitoes! You never see them on the ground or in bird feeders. My grandpa always had purple martins in his apartment style birdhouse when I was growing up. I think your scar looks good and I wish you well when you have your other surgery. Happy November!

Was able to watch earlier than planned, and what a treat, those mill hill finishes are awesome, as is your display. I’m glad you did the bird bit, we were just saying recently that there’s a steep decline in starlings here, which is a shame, they are funny birds and mimic other bird song, but like you say, bullies! Your wound healed nicely, I never noticed it either til you pointed it out, another yr or so and it will be barely visible I’m sure. Thanks for sharing, now I have to wait another month for another 😩

Looks like your scar is in a great spot. It should basically disappear. My Ex had a Zplasty scar in his Laughlin that faded enough that it really wasn't noticeable. Yours will too. Glad yours was caught when it was.

I am a novice bird watcher in the PNW and I saw a huge flock/swarm of starlings or grackles yesterday having a feast on the neighbor’s newly seeded lawn.

Hello, I'm trying to find an old Mill Hill cross stitch book that was about 15 years old. It had the treasures, buttons, beads, and various types of floss. It was a banner. The top was a witch, and it I think had green face, with purple shiny hairy type thread, and sampler style. Had candy corns, bats, ghosts (buttons and pattern) and was about 2 feet long, and maybe 10 inches wide. I have looked all over the internet and cannot find the book or pattern. Please help?? I don't think it was a kit, but it has been long enough, maybe I've forgotten...Thank you, Michelle

Christine, I think you are the best person to ask as you do so much perforated paper work. I was nearing the end of the cross stitch part of a Buttons and Beads kit (Christmas present) when I accidentally pulled too hard fighting with a knot in my thread. Rip! I think two squares were affected. HELP!!! I can’t find any help with a Google search. Do I need to abandon or is there a way to repair?

Oh no! I'm sorry I'm so late getting back to you on this! If it were me, I would remove any stitches around the hole so that you have at least one row of in tact holes all the way around. Then I would cut a small piece of perforated paper big enough to not only cover the hole, but some surrounding stitches. Next, I would go ahead and re-stitch the stitches around the hole to anchor the new piece of paper. Now you should be able to stitch over the hole using the back piece of paper. I hope that makes sense. Let me know how it turns out!

It's different. It's very thin and flexible, kind of like paper with a very slight plasticy coating is the best way to describe it
