Flosstube is just the name of the cross stitching community here on KZbin. Like reading has Booktube, cross stitch has Flosstube.

YAY for the Wheel of Movies! How wonderful that you are sharing film thoughts in your Flosstube videos! I am thrilled to see it, and it was wonderful to hear about the films. I thought I had watched all the Akira Kurosawa films but I'm not familiar with Stray Dogs. I must research this! And I know I have said it before, but it is just the coolest that you get to vote in film awards. And sounds like they have some unexpected treasures to enjoy. Awesome. Look forward to hearing more :)

Yay! I'm happy you saw it! I hope you find Stray Dogs. Here in the States it is only available on Criterion DVD and on the Criterion Channel. Don't know if you may have better availability in Canada for it.

Love that Breakfast at Tiffany's piece and the Amy Brown fairy. 🤩 That's a bummer about the diagonal leaving some "linage". Good call on feathering around it to disguise that direction of stitching. Makes sense that you're still experimenting on what works best for you as a stitcher. "Stray Dogs" sounds amazing! I'll have to check it out.

Yeah lines are always a risk when not doing full on cross country, they don't tend to happen as much with diagonal though from what I've seen. Stray Dogs was really good.

Really love the Audrey Hepburn piece. Not seen than chart before😁👍. I thought Ox was sitting on your shoulders lol. You have some wonderful projects👍.

I enjoyed the different parts of this video. I used to watch "spaghetti westerns", Cowboy movies made in Italy or Spain, also a lot of Japanese black and white films with fighting in them. I don't recommend Swiss movies, they tend to be drab and depressing. French films are also not my cup of tea with the exception of the pink panther ones. Happy Stitching, reading and watching 🧵📚🎬

Thanks Dawn. I used to watch a lot of spaghetti westerns when I was a teenager. The Pink Panther movies are actually American, put out by United Artists. They are just set in France, a lot of the actors are actually British. I think A Shot in the Dark is my favorite of them.

Spaghetti westerns where great when I was a Teenager. I did not know that about the Pink Panther movies, but it makes sense. It is too long ago for me to remember my favorite ....

Love the discussion on the different stitching techniques you are using on your HAEDs. Also really loved the ending portion of the video. I have Hulu so I will check out Palm Springs this weekend with the husband. We spent the entire day yesterday watching hulu movies and we got some really weird ones. "Still" was a good one, "The Other Lamb" was a good story but a really strange watch, "Sweet Girl" was on netflix and their newest release with Jason Mamoa, really really good movie and actually we watched it twice cause it needed a rewatch. The last one we watched was "Odd Thomas" quirky, funny, confusing, and a good ending.

Thank you! I am so glad that you loved the end portion, I enjoyed doing it. I will have to look into those movies. The only one I've heard of is "Odd Thomas", I have read the book that was based off of.

I’ve never cross stitched before but have been interested in doing it. I got an Edgar Allan Poe pattern by the Witchey Stitcher from Etsy I’m hoping to start soon.

I look forward to seeing your progress on disintegration! I just downloaded the free chart, but not sure if I'll ever stitch it, even though it's really great art. Yours may decide that for me! It was interesting hearing about the movies. It's been so long since there's been one I've wanted to watch, so you may give me some inspiration! Do you stitch when you watch a movie you haven't seen? I feel like I miss too much, but really still want to stitch!

It depends on the movie. It has to be English language, can't read subtitles and stitch. Which puts me in a dilemma sometimes, when I want to watch an international film but also want to stitch. Usually I'll start out stitching and then put it down if I see the movie is going to require more focus.

I like some international film, but it's frustrating to get ahold of them sometimes. I liked a very sweet and silly French film called "Heartbreaker" with Vanessa Paradis.

Check out a service called Mubi. It's a low monthly cost and they have a bunch of international film and some American Independent film. They put a new movie up every day too. There is also the Criterion Channel streaming service too. I used to get frustrated too trying to get ahold of them, but over the past year I've really dug in and learned where to watch them at. I will look into "Heartbreaker".
