First of all Happy Birthday, Andrew! And pass on the compliments of the internet to your boyfriend for that incredible cake! What a great haul and lovely birthday gifts. You are set for some fantastic stitching in the future. Re the specialty stitches. The older Just Nan band samplers, many Drawn Thread patterns, and some of the smaller Victoria Sampler pieces have good stitch diagrams. If there's something specific, let me know and I'll see if I can dig up some references for you.

Yes that lighthouse is a beast. So many stitches, but the color blocking is nice so it's just kind of quick mindless work haha. Hi 👋🏻 Emma, I love your Flosstubes and you have a great variety of projects. If you’re trying to get that number down stitch on the one first that’s nearest to a finish. That way you’ll achieve it quicker, that’s what I do anyway. I’ve many more wips 🤪 Moving home Emma is the most stressful thing you do, fact! Try not to think of logistics and boxes. Put that garden into the forefront of your mind and whenever you feel overwhelmed put yourself in there. I have Millie’s Dresses quilt pattern it’s amazing! For the silk thread you had trouble with (it's more like a hank), try looking up how to unwind a hank of yarn. It might be easier for you if you see it on a bigger scale.

I started Winter Wonderland last year and it is in time out. I did the whole rink and tree and then discovered it was on the wrong orientation. It will eventually be frogged and restarted on the correct orientation. I chose an opalescent grey linen and don't want to waste the fabric. Yours looks great. 💜💜💜

I also found NPI silks difficult to get onto floss drops, won’t purchase them again for that very reason.

Glad you had a good birthday, and your cake looks great and sounded really good. I would never have guessed you were 38. If asked to guess I would have said early 30's. For marathon training do you follow a program from somebody or is it your own. Do you know if the marathon is televised? I'd love to watch it since both you and Yamir are going to be in it. Someone from the fitness studio I go to is also doing it. Have a great vacation!

The cake was delicious and along with the special gifts including yours, it really was a great day, so thank you so much! Aww that's kind... yes I'm 38! Getting close to 40 haha. I follow the Hal Higdon training program. They have a website with programs for half marathons and marathons! I've found it really works for me. I'm not sure if it's televised but there will be an app where you can track where we are on the course during race day! I'll share more about that as we get closer. Happy stitching!

Happy belated birthday, Andrew! 🎉 What readers do you use? I use a magnifier lamp at home, but I've been wondering about readers for when I want to take my stitching on the road. How do you like stitching with readers?

Thank you! My readers are nothing fancy, I just bought a cheap pair at the pharmacy that have 3.25 perscription. I like them it's just taking some getting used to because I need them to see the fabric holes, but when I look at my ipad for the pattern everything is blurry so I have to look above the glasses haha. Not sure if that helps!

It was great to stitch with you at Laura's zoom. I loved seeing your WIPs , especially Saga. A friend and I are also using the Silks4U PR 207. Her project is from Keslyn and mine from an Etsy seller. Are you stitching each stitch as you go, or across the row and back? It looks as though your WIP has some variation. I'm not seeing it in my progress of crossing each stitch, so am curious. What a great win on the Mirabilia! And finally, belated birthday wishes! Birthdays do last all month. 😊

I had a great time stitching with you as well! Such a lovely afternoon with lovely people. Awesome that you're using PR207 as well. Mine doesn't have that much variegation in the silks actually. It's very slight. I have been stitching across the row and then back. I figured with such little variegation I couldn't be bothered to do each stitch separately on such a large piece haha. But I do think the lighter parts come across in the camera which is cool. Thank you for the birthday wishes and happy stitching!

I started my project doing full stitches because I was expecting some variation, but as you say, it shows up more in the angle of the light. I'm afraid to switch to 'normal' stitching now in case the different way of stitching shows. Good luck with your upcoming races.

Happy birthday! Don't feel bad about using readers. I use 3.50 readers plus 3.00 magnifying clip-ons to stitch. I need both strengths so I can still see my tablet by looking over the top of the clip-ons. What are the clips you are using to hold your fabric out of the way on the q snaps?

Thank you! That's good to know. I didn't mind the readers actually, just something new for me! The clips I bought early on from Tapestry Market, but they are honestly very heavy and I wouldn't recommend haha. I need to find different ones!
