My Mum passed away when she was 60. Far too young. I’m going to dedicate What Remains to her and my Dad. Happy stitching 😊

Hi Eleanor! I just found your Flosstube and so enjoyed viewing all your beautiful samplers! My very first cross stitch ever, was stitched in 1981 as a wedding gift for my sister. When I think back, I was brave to take on a sampler! She loved it! You have so many beautiful samplers stitched and lots of Blackbird designs. 👏🏻👏🏻. I am so glad that I found you! If we lived closer together, I know that we would be fast stitchy friends. You love to stitch a lot I like stitching on. As a matter of fact, I was working on BBD Christmas Rose while watching. I have all of the BBD that you have except for Winds of Autumn and I really don't have a good excuse for that and I'm more of a fan of autumn than Halloween, too. I loved seeing all of your finishes. Elinor, I add my initials and date finished to my needlework but use the middle letter as my maiden name,K. It’s the same as your married name, Kerr. Ancestry says my Kerr family are from Jedburg, Scotland, Ferniehurst Castle. We Americans are obsessed about tracing where we came from and how we got to America. Another lovely video. I have Blackbird Designs Come Into My Garden. I started this in July 2020 whilst my eldest son was in hospital. He passed away by the end of that month. I still can’t pick it up to finish it . Although I would to finish it and frame - just still raw. Really love all your samplers you are a great enabler.

I only discovered Samplers in 2020, until then I stitched from a catalogue, believe it or not. Now, I am also addicted. I have many Blackbirds kitted up also, but only started Oh Joyous Day. Oh to spend all day stitching!! I am also the oldest of 5 girls. I love your stitching, it must be very exciting to model stitch for designers! As far as your names, you could consider putting both your married and maiden on the piece?

I would do Elinor Gordon Kerr on Eleanor Rigby. That way you have all of your names (unless you have a middle name).

I like seeing what you comment as we look at the Blackbird charts. Different eyes are drawn to different aspects of a chart. For name-could you use both, first name maiden name married name? Though longer, it’s clear for everyone who has known you.

I dedicated it to my granddaughter Briley who is now 10 years old because when she was born was a most joyous day! If you are crazy then so are many other stitchers including myself. I go by my first name, maiden name, then last name. It’s been that way for 50 years! It’s on my drivers license. Chart it out to see if you like it! Who’s your favorite Scottish designer? Do you follow Nicola Parkman? She charts some amazing samplers? Your work is lovely!

I'm so sorry about Belle. Our pets will always be with is. Your project for your mother is beautiful. My mom died at age 64 - way too young. I'm not familiar with the Eleanor Rigby pattern but could you use the first letter of your maiden name as a middle initial?

Loving your FlossTube videos! I recently traced my paternal great grandmother’s ancestry to Scotland with the surname of Kerr in the 1500-1600s, so I perked up.when you mentioned your married name. I vote married name! Happy stitching! 🧵😘
