Your Heaven and earth is going to be a long term stitch, so chose the fabric and floss that you'll be most comfortable with. In the end, you can stitch them on anything you want, and they almost always come out beautiful. Whenever I can't decide I get a few bits of scraps and do a bit of test stitching, to decide what I like best and am most comfortable with. Either way you decide, I can't wait to see your progress on it, as it is a lovely choice for sure! Have a beautiful day, friend!

Thank you. Your reason for the tent stitch with 3 over 1 had me laugh out loud. Good for you, it is important to set your priorities straight ;). I don't really like the tent stitch, so am aiming for full crossses. But then again, 700x700, I might lose hope at some point and refer to your method ;)

So nice to spend time with you again. I enjoy your sweet quiet humor i.e., my new favorite hobby - ironing. 😀 Your stitching is lovely and I'm a beach fan too so love that one. The more you show those geometric designs and you're stitching on them, the more I feel tempted to try one. BTW I have trouble using with paper patterns so I use only pdfs, put them on my iPad and use GoodReader. You can enlarge and mark up the pattern so you always know where you are. When my pattern is paper, I can use my printer to scan them into pdf's. My daughter takes her patterns sometimes to the office supply store where they can scan them into pdfs.

Thank you for providing us with another lovely floss tube. When it comes to HAED designs, you can stitch on whatever type of fabric that you like. You can get the proper size fabric from HAED. People stitch on 14 Aida all the time. You will just need more floss. You can start in the middle, bottom right, bottom left, top right or top left, there is no right or wrong place. This is your project, use want you want and do it whatever way you like. Best wishes for your new HAED project.

Hallo Hanneke, nice to see you again :) The Colors of Water looks so lovely, I need one Historisches Stickmuster for myself. Yes I like the designs of Durene Jones a lot. Kreinik is hard to work with, I had my problems with it on a Wentzler piece... DMC 3821 Straw looks like Gold. Hanneke I find travelling across the UK or North/South seems a long way 😂. I like bright colours as opposed to earth colours- if you looked through my choice of quilting fabrics you'd see I tend to choose what I call the 'jewel' colours. I've worked on 22ct fabrics when doing a little Hardanger or I stitched a Blackwork (in black and gold) cushion cover. I can't advise for your proposed large project as I prefer evenweave as it's easier to do half stitches. I just finished a piece which was mostly backstitch with nearly equal full and half cross stitches. I just liked the Christmas words in a tree shape so sent for the chart but it wasn't an enjoyable stitch for 'Jolly July'! Thankful I kept going to the finish 😊
@adutchstitcher

Thank you so much for watching. And from experience (I have lived in the UK for 7 years) I can tell you that travelling from the south to the north in the UK takes a lot longer that travelling from the South to the North in the Netherlands ;). We are just a tiny country. I'm sorry you didn't really enjoyed your jolly july stitch, but hope the finished result is making up for it :). Happy stitching!

Your stitching is beautiful! HAED’s are my favorite patterns. I have tried all fabrics from 18 count to 32 count and have found that 25 count is my favorite. The gridded fabric is very helpful when you are stitching something so confetti heavy. I have never been brave enough to try a max color! I am working on Princess Asleep and the confetti never ends, but it is really turning out nice. I look forward to seeing your new project.

When you stitch on 25 count do you do full crosses or tent stitch? And 1 or 2 threads? I have a mini HAED and it seems 2 threads full cross is so dense it’s hard to get my needle through.

Thank you for your video and update, sorry I am a bit late to the party. Your stitching as always looks beautiful and the floral piece is stunning. I am not sure how the postage is money wise now but LiLuXstitch (huge range) and to some extent Stitchtastic both on Etsy carry 16 count Aida. I have used 20 count easy grid for a full coverage , albeit a small full coverage and that worked really well . Enjoy your break and a visit with your family. Have a well deserved rest from teaching, we need it.

Hi Hanneke. Thanks for another great video. Congrats on taking the plunge in the world of HAED - my word, though, 700x700 is big! I have several HAEDs on the go, including 2 which are well progressed - they are 25 ct and I have used 2 strands. It is thick but gives v good coverage (both have a lot of dark elements). I abandoned a project that was 1 strand on 25 because I just didn’t like the coverage. So now my go to is 28ct w 1 strand. That all said - I like really good coverage, and I like darker deeper colours than I suspect would suit your palette. I’m about to start a Golden Kite pattern which uses blends (so you have to have 2 strands), and I’m doing that on 20ct. It does of course make for a v large piece too! Anyway, given the colours of this pattern, and your apparent preferences, I suspect you would be okay w 1 strand on 20 or 22. The real test will be the body of the peacock, so maybe just stitch up a trial block of 100-200 stitches (the joys of pattern keeper!) and see if you like it.
@adutchstitcher

Thank you so much! It is big :(, but also so pretty... so what is a girl to do ;). I think you are right about my preferences. I am going to try one strand on 22 ct and hope for the best! Thanks for your input, I do appreciate it! Good luck with all your projects! Happy stitching

Hi Hanneke! I am quite a new full coverage stitcher, but already have quite a few on the go! 🤦‍♀️ I’ve been doing them on 25ct Easy grid, which I love. But I’ve just started one on 18ct, with 2 strands, and am really enjoying working on that, and the coverage and how my stitches look. The main thing would be for me - how large are you happy for the finished item to be - obviously one stitched on. 16/18 ct will be considerably larger than a 25ct. And obviously you will use twice as much thread. I’ve never used 22ct but I know I would find 1 strand on 20ct a bit thin coverage. Don’t know if these thoughts help at all, but good luck -it’s a stunning design! 😃

Hello, Hanneke! I know you have a die cutting machine, and I’m wondering if you might be able to use a small circular or heart shaped die to cut through your beautiful 3 layer stitched floss drops.
@adutchstitcher
@adutchstitcher Жыл бұрын
