Oh, the Paris Opera House! I'm a huge fan of Phantom! Oh, my. That would be my #1 choice. Well, maybe. The chandelier and the paintings, and the grand ballroom (I'm hearing Masquerade). Chris , I can't say how much I loved your trip recap pics and telling about them. You provided so much info to we regular people (who will probably never visit Paris). When one tries to get videos about these places they just are not practical or "real" like yours. The smaller museums magnified, not just the Louvre(obviously , we all want to see that too). Truly an excellent job, Chris. Thank you!

Thank you SO much, Chris, for sharing all the photos of your trip and sharing your thoughts of Paris. Glad you had a wonderful trip. 😀 That grand ballroom in the opera house blew me away!! I've never seen anything like it! I've been to Rome twice and the inside of all churches, especially St. Peter's Basilica, are stunning, but that ballroom certainly rivals any of them! I'd love to go to Paris one day. I took French in high school for three years and remember a lot of it so I know I'd do fine. So sorry to hear about your pine trees. I hope you don't lose them. Here in Missouri it is supposed to get down to the mid 20's tonight after having a false spring! I had to go out and cover a few tender plants, like my Virginia Bluebells, that have the tender green foliage up already. Hope they survive. 🙂

Oh my how wonderful and the beauty is striking❤ I did spit my beverage out when you talked briefly about the Mona Lisa! My mom had a reproduction of her beautifully framed hanging in her and Daddy’s bedroom when I was little( in the 70’s) and I was scared of the Lady who always starred at me😂 well I have her now and she turned backward and wrapped . Beautiful but creeps me to this day! I know that’s awful but I can’t! I’m so glad you had an amazing adventure and thank you for sharing!

I loved hearing about your trip to Paris. Stan and I went several years ago to perfect weather. My dear friend, John and his husband, have a studio apartment and hosted us for 10 days. I think we walked 77,000 steps. The only day John cut us loose was our trip to the Lourve. We went very early when the doors opened and did get to see the Mona Lisa practically by ourselves. We had one of the beautiful pastries you showed, the “nun”. Thank you for sharing and bringing back so many wonderful memories.

Oh my goodness, Chris. I just guffawed like a hyena when you said you couldn’t stitch on the plane because you had to concentrate on keeping it in the air. 😂😂😂 I know just what you mean about the anxiety of travel. I never want to go and dread it but when I do, I have a fabulous time. (Normally can’t wait to get home, but that’s another story.) Post-COVID travel is even more stressful. Your lovely photos of Paris brought me back to when I visited years ago with a friend. I felt the same way about the Musee D’Orsay (sp?). It is phenomenal. Also felt that the Louvre was incredible but so overwhelming. I find I’m drawn to sculpture also, and your photos of them are magnificent. I didn’t visit the Opera House but now wish I had. It looks out of this world. Your emotions around it are just lovely. It reminded me of a woman I met through my work years ago. She was a poet and, like me, a lifelong Red Sox fan (poor us!) She had battled depression and ill health for years. We were involved in an enthusiastic conversation about our team, which was having an exciting year, and she stopped and said, “Isn’t it wonderful to love something so much?” I never forgot that moment of recognition and thankfulness. And so, leave it to me to connect the opera house to the Red Sox. Welcome to my world!!! Thanks for this wonderful episode of Chris [not] Cross Stitch! ❤

I'm so jealous! I haven't been in years. I remember being in the Grand Ballroom and trying to imagine it all lit by candles back in the days before electricity. I didn't realize the enormity of The Louvre when I went and you definitely have to pick and choose what you want to truly see.Probably why I prefer smaller museums like The Gardner that you can take your time and truly see things and process what you are seeing. Although the Getty is still one of my favorite museums in the world. I'm so happy you were able to see and do and taste so many wonderful things! Welcome Home!
