Of all the Flosstubers I watch you are the one that enables me the most. Pandemic, Stitching Shelf, Kringles, Kingdom of Books and more. Now I want several of your new starts too! I'll need to live to at least 150 at this rate! Thanks for another fabulous video. I really look forward to your updates.

So many great projects! I love all your new starts and kits. 😍 I’m glad to have enabled you to join in on the Montages and Mill Hills! Your version of the montages is a good choice for your stitching style - you seem to prioritize finishes more than I do, so you’ll be able to finish the Janlynn ones sooner. 👍🏻 And great Mill Hill choices - so many cute ones to choose from! 😍

I stitched the Jan Lynne kit this spring. The Aida wasn't white. It was beige. I loved stitching it initially but ultimately tired of the majority brown/black stitches. I still love the finished project, but the full coverage design I love more!
@Handworkmaniac
@Handworkmaniac 2 жыл бұрын
Ohhh, I bet your Spring kit is gorgeous!!! And you are so right! I had to go look, and the fabric is a lovely beige, like Fiddler's Cloth. I don't know why I kept thinking it was white!! I will have to correct that in my next video :) And I can totally see getting tired of the brown, there is quite a bit of it, lol. I too love those full coverage designs more, they are just stunning.

What a fun and exciting video! Whoo hoo for finishes! Then you started some more and they aren't small. Wow! Then you bought some more and they aren't small! Whooaa! Then you bought Mill Hills with beads and started one! Everything kept building. It was an exciting video to watch while I stitch. My first cross stitch was one of the Mill Hill birds on the brown aida. Then I did 2 more on the perforated paper for Xmas gifts. The beads totally add a wow factor. I love using beads instead of French knots. The flower one you started is so pretty and I've seen it in my LNS. I debate doing one in the series everytime I see them. You have beautiful stitching and always enjoy your progress. Thank you.

Thanks for the update, Brenda (just catching up now). Beautiful finishes & love seeing all your WIPs. I heard a good tip for the magnet mounting - put washers on the pieces and magnets on the board/tray so that when you store them they don't stick together. Love that William Morris bag - I'm working on a HAED version of that design at the moment (The Strawberry Thief). As an iPad & iPhone user, I love Markup RXP (you can't use Pattern Keeper on Apple devices).

Day and Night is lovely. Your new starts are so inspiring. I have Miss Hathaway's Garden and several other Marty Bell charts. I remember buying them at the time because I was excited to see charts with so many colors and such detail. The only one I have started to date is Rocky Mountain Christmas, which I bought as a kit. Brenda all I can say I WOW. Your FFO's and your WIPS are amazing and stunning. You are truly a talented and gifted lady. I do have a Marty bell pattern called Rocky Mountain Christmas and after watching what you are working on I too want to start it. I was watching flosstube half cross stitch (Dena) and in the month of May she had an idea and she called it May Monday. You take 5 new starts and begin them the 1st, 2nd and so forth of each week and work on what what you can accomplish in that week and come June you go back to those starts and see if you can finish one or two. So I did 5 small starts and have been working on them this month of June. On medium or large probably would not be a finish but doing smalls would work. I think I am going to try to do that again in Jolly July and work on 4/5 smalls and see what I can accomplish and in August go back to them to see what I can finish. Brenda you cross stitching is outstanding and I do have a couple you showed. I want to start to work on Light of the World by Greg Olson and Hoity Toity. I love the colors. I always love watching your channel you give me lots of ideas and the patterns you show are on my wishlist and it gets larger all the time. Come July 2nd my hubby and I have been married 50 years and I am thinking about doing the Light of the World as a start and do Marty bell on July 27 because it is my birthday and I will be turning 70. WOW where does the time go. Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat

Oh I also started Consider the Lilies. I had Vicky Clayton make a silk pack for me...beautiful. I had just finished Reflect de Soie Yvonne Leclercq 1905 and I needed to do a border cleansing project. So stitched BBD A Heart Remembers using Vicky Clayton silks. I have also started Eleanor Parr 1816 by Scarlett Letter Vicky's silks. I'm also working on the Lanarte Marjolein Bastin sampler but find I do not like the pattern size. So I have to figure that out better. Be well, Robin

Ohhhh, a Vicky Clayton silk pack would be just gorgeous for Consider the Lilies!! I bet you so enjoy working on it. And I know just what you mean about borders, lol!! I am sure your RDS Yvonne Leclercq is just stunning. All your pieces sound amazing! Yes, the pattern paper size for the Marjolein Bastin sampler is challenging. I took them to work and paid to use the big machine and make working copies onto 11 x 14 paper (I had to shrink them just a little). And then I cut them up and tape certains sections together when I need to. You could also go to a copy store and have them shrunk down to 8.5 x 11 if you wanted to. The symbols are so big, I think they would still be readable.

I am in NoNewStarts2022 and you broke me! I´ve been watching StitchingMommy and her Montages but had the ability to resist up until this video. I just ordered all 4 pdfs and downloaded them to PatternKeeper. I´ll kit them up this weekend and then let´s see if I have the strength to wait until 2023 to start them. I also purchased and kitted up Tisket Tasket and have been chompin' at the bit to start that one. 2 more weeks of school and I´ll have so much more stitchy time. Happy summer to you as well!

Hi Sylvia!!! Oh no, lol!!!!! I'm so sorry, giggle. I heard another flosstuber say that when she is tempted to start something she asks herself if she loves the new project more than she loves her current projects, and she can usually say no. I thought that was great advice, but obviously I didn't use that advice in April, lol!!! Another great thing to do when you are tempted to start something is to take each of your WIPs out and look at them one at a time, that usually helps me as well. But hey, only you know if starting something is what you really need today, :)

Hi Brenda . Lovely... lovely ....lovely wips ! Loving the color of your dye fabric . I am trying to dye my fabric, first time too and thought wanted also to try natural dyes using turmeric , beetroot , dragonfruit and also tea and coffee . Just a fun experience and hopefully it turn out well so i can save a lot from buying hand dye fabric which is pretty costy where i live and only through online . I love your little trick there to make the fabric lighter and was wondering if using a bit of chlorox instead ( they dont sell what you use here ) will it be too strong 😅 . Anyway , love your haul . I do have similar taste as yours and you will inspire me to get those designs too 😅🙂 , Thank you .
@Handworkmaniac
@Handworkmaniac 2 жыл бұрын
Thank You!! Natural dyes sound very fun to try. I do think that Clorox bleach would be too strong and would take all the color right out, at least in places. I think just washing with soap right away in warm water would take out some of the dye, and if you have access to any laundry product like "Clorox 2" which is bleach for colors, that would work as well.

Brenda, your projects are beautiful. I love your parade of projects. I did not see the Prairie Schooler Alphabet one. Aren't you doing those charts on one piece of fabric? Can you tell me the size and count of the fabric you are using? I have been wanting to start that one for a while.
@Handworkmaniac
@Handworkmaniac 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cheryl!! I forgot to show that one, lol. I will show it in either the next video or the one after that. And I'm so sorry, this is jogging my memory that you asked me for this information before and I said I would go home and look. I think that was months ago!!! Here is the info: I am doing that piece over 1 thread on 28 ct fabric. So the stitches are tiny with 28 stitches per inch. That would be the same as doing it over 2 threads on 56 ct fabric. Since I am eliminating two letters of the alphabet and only doing 24 squares, and I am leaving 2 spaces between squares. AND all the squares are not the same size, so I am having to change some of them to make them all the same at 70 x 100 each. I figured my final stitch count will be 412 H x 440 W. I always add 3 inches margin to my fabric on all sides so my fabric is 22in x 22 in. for over 1 thread on 28 ct fabric.
