Thank you for your comments to Aida stichers about taking a gander at even weave. As someone who has only stitched on Aida for the past 25-30 years, I needed your encouragement - and I think (gulp) I am ready to take the leap, and trying variegated floss. Thanks for a great video!

Thanks again for the great video. Its nice that you are showing us all different ways and tools to use in cross stitching. Bravo to you for thinking of us. Your a great teacher and I look forward in your next one. I was trying to think of anything else that I wanted to know or learn but right now I think you are covering them all from beading to fabric to thread..Thanks so much!!

Your tutorials are very helpful. Love them all and keep them coming. I am just back into stitching after about 15 years and I agree with Diane Erdmann. There are so many new things on the market like overdyed threads and overdyed fabric. So, yes, I am very much enjoying them. Keep them coming

Danielle, I found this video so helpful, especially the beading since I am new to that technique. Can't wait to see the upcoming video where you show off your fabrics. I'm sure I'll be completely enabled, but I don't care! LOL Loving all the videos, really appreciate them. Thanks :)

I'm new here and I really love your videos! As a knitter that loves all kinds of needlework I can tell you the indie dyed knitting-crochet yarn is the same as the embroidery floss. When you knit a garment you need to alternate skeins because each skein is different from the others. I'm amazed how the yarn-floss world is so similar! Keep crafting and be happy!

The longer I stared at the samples the more variation I saw. I've used some of the variegated threads on 18 count needlepoint and they are lovely when other threads are up against them and seem to show more. It really helped me to see how you keep the two strands straight as you complete each stitch. I'm working on making better stitches. Thanks for helping all of us.

Thank you for all the tips you give us! I did my first project with over dyed thread and used Weeks because it was called for in a pattern in the Just Cross Stitch 2018 Christmas Ornament magazine (this is my favorite issue so far) but the result was completely different than the pattern shown in the picture. I did not stitch in individual crosses so maybe that's why it didn't work. There was no variation at all. I came across some DMC over dyed floss and the variegation was beautiful! Now that I know what over dyed x-stitching should look like, I would use DMC in place of Weeks.
@JasperJanssen4 жыл бұрын
The weeks shown here looks very subtle, so I would expect that the variation would easily get lost if you don’t do complete Xes at a time.

Hi Danielle - I enjoyed your video! Hope you are feeling well these days as you get closer to the end of your treatments:) DO you ever stitch using the parking method? I have watched some tutorials but still do not really have a handle on how to read the chart while there are lots and lots of color strands hanging out. How do you keep from traveling so far? How do you not get lost? And do people just draw the guidelines for the 10x10 squares with a disappearing marker, or use thread? I have tried using thread but then it gets mushed up in the stitching and is a mess. I would really like to watch someone walk each step of the way through on a very intricate pattern!
@Stitcherista7 жыл бұрын
Kathy Gill-Hopple usually the parking method is done with heaven and earth designs. I don't stitch those designs. Have you tried searching KZbin for videos on that subject? A lot of people do heaven and earth designs patterns.

Went back and watched this one...helpful..now after time has passed, is there a brand of floss that you find yourself reaching for?

Great video. I only stitch on 28 count and was wondering if you get extra floss if the pattern calls for it to be stitched on 32 count 1 over 1, so the dye lots are the same, when using hand dyed threads? Just wondering if the pattern only calls for 1 skein.

If you answered this, I apologize, but I heard you say that you're not supposed to use the loop method to stitch. What method would be better to use?
@Stitcherista4 жыл бұрын
I say no loop method if you are using overdyed threads, just because a bit of the variegation will be lost. I would just use two separate strands and maybe do an away knot to start. I have a video on my channek that shows that.

Another great detailed informative video. I want to thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos. You rock girl!! Do you wash your finished project that you stitched with overdyes before you have it framed? Do you wash your overdyes in hot water before you stitch a project like some of the manufacturers recommend?
