@@frogandfudge no I didn't start an Afremov, I bought Bonded by the Rain the mini color expansion version, but I am going to buy the regular or mini version, because I heard that it was too much confetti ;-) I think you mean Jantina or Jemima, they have started an Afremov pattern. Hugs, Debbie

Hi Angel, thanks for watching. Since filming this I've lost my stichy bug. Stress got to me and it became difficult, so I've decided to take a month off from stitching and I'm sewing project bags in aid of the Ukraine Red Cross Emergency Appeal instead. Feeling useful seems to help. Hopefully by June I can pick stitching up again. Take care, hugs Diane 😘

What a nice surprise! Your first HAED is beautiful. It’s definitely one on my wishlist. I have found that 3 over 1 tent is my go to otherwise I would never complete the piece! Not that I’ve finished a HAED yet. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m so happy you were able to get the lovely DMC box along with the threads. It may be an investment but one you will enjoy for a long time. 💜

Hi Elisa, I've re-calculated my HAED, at this rate it'll take me 15 years! I might never get it finished! I am sticking with 3 over 1 tent stitch. It was very messy to start with but I'm getting the hang of it now. No one will see the top messy corner... so I'm not frogging it. I've also found another couple of HAEDs I like. Yes! You did it!! So excited for you! Your first haed! It can be a struggle at first but when you find your sweet spot you'll love it. I use one stand on 20ct. Dark colors do shine through but when you take a step back its really nice. Wishing you loads of fun with the dmc set. Love x Jantina

Hi Jantina, I think I've found my sweet spot. 3 over 1 tent stitch on 20 count Aida. At least it'll work for this kind of abstract painting. I'm beginning to feel the enormity of it, what have I done? I might never get it finished. Oh well, it's the journey that counts, not the destination. Hugs and happy stitching, Diane 😘

I hope you’ve now found the system that works for you. That’s probably the hardest part about full coverages. Once you’re settled, your good for good. It’s going to be so pretty!!

Wow! Best of luck with your haed.👍💕 I've done several full coverages and I found two strands on 18 count aida gave lovely coverage but it got hard to push the needle through. I now like one strand on 20 count. It's delicate and doesn't get bulky. But everyone is different, and likes different levels of coverage.

Thank you for watching Karen. I forgot to say that I'm stitching it with tent stitch, not cross stitch. If I made crosses I don't think I'd ever get it finished 😜. I tried 2 strands, but I could just see so much white Aida between the stitches, even at arms length. Perhaps my tension was too tight. This HAED is going to be a learning process.... I am having problems with 2 strands on 18 cnt as well; it works for a smaller project (although not all crosses look that nice) but to stitch a giant piece with it ... not for me.

Jemima is such an enabler. Every time I watch her video's I want to start a haed too 😅. I think Jantina is using one thread on 20 cnt aida (full crosses), but she will probably respond herself. That is what I will try (whenever I get to it). I made the same mistake with two different shades of white on a project, but I will have to frog it, it is a mistake easily made, especially when you work on it in the evenings. Happy stitching. Hi Evelien. Yes Jemima is and yes Jantina is stitching 1 over 1 full crosses. I'm sticking with 2 over 1 tent stitch. That seems to be writing for me. I am a bit late watching this video, I'm so behind on my flosstube watching... but I really enjoyed watching. You have started a HAED, whoopwhoo! It's a pretty one, it's going to be so beautiful when you finish it in seven years.😄 Don't you just love the big pile of floss you need for a HAED? I think it's so cool that you bought the whole box, enjoy!

She's closed her shop and what's left is greatly reduced. I love a good bargain. I've just watched your latest flosstube, do you also watch Ozark and Snow Piercer? Hi Diane, wat een mooie HEAD ga je doen. Het is even wennen maar uiteindelijk als je resultaat ziet..... Ik zou gewoon doorgaan met twee draden, als je het neerlegt op een donkere ondergrond zie je het licht er niet meer doorheen. Ik ben benieuwd hoe het gaat worden. Happy stitching.

Hoi Geertje, Dankjewel! Ik vind het ook mooi. Ik dacht eerst dat er grote blokken kleuren waren, maar er zijn best wat andere kleuren tussen. Het blijft interessant. Ik ben verder gegaan met 3 over 1 tent stitch. Misschien had ik het te strak gedaan in het begin, ik kon zo veel van de witte Aida zien dat het irritant werd. Ik kon het niet negeren.
