It is good to know the balance of what we can handle and still leave a leeway for an irresistible chart. What I have learned from experience is to place a small piece of floss on the top of my piece knowing that is the top of my work. Your stitch work is amazing.

Fun WIP parade! I enjoyed seeing the projects that you will be working on and following your progress. I appreciate a smaller WIP parade, anything over 15-20 WIPs gives me anxiety. 😊 Thanks for sharing!
Your stitching is wonderful and you seem to get so much done! I too get overwhelmed by too many wips for me. It makes me frustrated 🥴 and feel like I shouldn't start anything new. So I hold it to less than 10. That works for me. All power to everyone to do what works for you!!!

I truly enjoyed your WIP parade. You always make such good fabric and floss choices. Have you ever considered shortening what you stitch from a pattern? For example the watermelon piece. I would convince myself to finish the slice you started and call it a day. I guess I get overwhelmed by larger projects and just want a finish so I can move on to another piece. Have a great week!

Like yourself, I am a product stitcher...I like to see/have the finished item. I have many patterns paired with fabric (since there is no thread so not sure if you'd consider it kitted),but there is definitely a difference between stuff kitted and actual WIPS. I'd go crazy if I had to many WIPS, my limited is probably 10, although the number of WIPS is higher if you add in my quilting, knitting, etc. Have a wonderful new year & happy stitching.

Great parade. A trick to working with wisper...use one strand wisper and one strand dmc in matching color. Wont break so much. Also use shorter length so wisper won't wear so much going in and out of holes.

Great parade. I finished my Historical Sampler but had to modify because I started it wrong on my fabric. I was far enough along I was not going to rip out or restart. Love the color fabric you chose. I live the watermelon piece. I may have to buy that one. I agree with having to many WIPs. I get overwhelmed when to many are on the go then I don't want to stitch. But I have many kits ready to be picked up when I have a finish.

I don't keep a ton of WIPS going maybe ten. I pulled out four of them on Jan 1 and decided to work six days a month on each WIP until they are done. As I finish one, I'll look at what I have waiting to see if I want to work on one of them or start a new one to replace the finished one. The rest of the month I can work on whatever I want. I did start the Max Pigeon one on New Years Day (Blizzard Valley) and have 3 more marked in his book I want to do soon. Thanks for taking time to do this WIP parade Helen. I'm sure you would have rather been stitching. Hugs to the kitties. 😻😻

Fun WIP parade! I love the Halloween stitches. 👻 Too many WIPS bug me too. I have 7 and I have quite a few kitted, but not started. I’m hoping to finish this year with very few of either. I would really prefer just to have a couple of projects going at any time. I also like to sew and quilt, so I have other things on my wish list to make. If only I didn’t work, LOL. Maybe I could get it all done.😊

Happy new stitching year! Your collection of WIPS is a good mix. I enjoyed your review. I’m trying to finish a big girl Mira called Raven Queen. She’s stitched from the waist down. I do beading when the stitching is done. There is also some outlining that I will do then, too. Then I have 2 samplers to try to finish, not too big, then a bunch of smalls. I try to do a couple of Christmas ornaments now so I’m not in a finishing panic before the swap. As always, l look forward to checking in on your progress. Til next time, bye🪡🪡

I went to one of the LNS on Saturday and picked up Don't Feed the Plants by Ingleside Imaginarium...way outside my skillset but I'm hoping to get it started this weekend. Still waiting on an Etsy order of a couple patterns I ordered 12.23 (not amused and this has been the only order from Etsy I've ever had sitting at label printed for this length of time).

Good to see your upcoming projects. I love the picture with the trees on the wall in the background. Do you remember what pattern that is? I am starting "And a Forest Grew". Hallo Helen, new year greetings from Belgium! How do you put a paper chart on Pattern keeper?
@helend.flosstube20 сағат бұрын
Honestly I haven't much luck with that, but you're supposed to be able to scan a chart in and upload it as a PDF
@itchingforstitching23 сағат бұрын
@Karen-rz8jh14 сағат бұрын
In a few prior videos, I've heard you say that you get your PDF patterns printed at the library. Is that because you work at a library (you can print for free) or you just prefer the printing quality of their printers?
@helend.flosstube3 сағат бұрын
It's actually because we don't have a color printer, just black and white. 😂 So if the chart is in color and won't go in to Pattern Keeper off to the library I go!
@alisoncaronflyingfree4 сағат бұрын
Helen, I've been meaning to ask you a question. You've mentioned before that you print out your PDF patterns at the library. How does that work? Do you have to put them on a USB key? I want to begin getting some of my PDF patterns printed out also. Thanks much.
@helend.flosstube3 сағат бұрын
Yes, I put them in a USB stick. At my library you can then print them out yourself. At some libraries they do it for you. You can also go to an office supply store, but the library is much closer for me. 😊

That's correct, but it may have been discontinued. I know several of their fabric colors were discontinued during Covid.
