I got these and ended up returning them. I use them for Gym everyday and maybe games occasionally, but I like my music loud. They are clear , crisp , bass is ok at best. The main thing is they aren’t loud enough. You’ll be finding yourself trying to turn them up. They seem like they’re always at 70% of what my earbuds sound like. I did get the Skullcandy evos to replace.. now you want bass, literally 2 12” subs on your ears.

Put the clear bass on +7 trust me! And use the custom eq finder setup in app where you play a song and walkthorugh sound profile playbacks and select the one you prefer. You get better treble an optimal bass which actually increases volume since bass and treble cut through perfectly with out over powering either way. I think I chose 3 & 6 in the setup and set my clear bass to +7 if it doesn't auto does it.

I'm a big fan of the crushers, bass and Sony, so I don't think I ever clicked a video this fast.

As an owner of the crushers since their first version, I can really say that there is nothing out there that can compete in terms of bass. I had the first version of beats studio, that was the cleanest bass I've ever heard in some headphones, however, the crushers really do pound your head. No joke, you can see the frame of your glasses shake sometimes, feel your ear wax vibrate in your ears. It's crazy and I love them. They're loud but obviously they won't be your best for fidelity. I have the sony xm4 as well, got them free with my xperia 1. I honestly do not know what the fuss is about. They have exactly 2 qualities. Crisp audio and insane noise canceling. They make you feel like you are inside a grave. The touch commands are a cool trick but not enough to leave the bass of the crushers behind. The battery is the same on both pairs of headphones. I have never heard so little bass as on the xm4 ever. It sounds horrible to me. You can distinguish every detail, but there is literally 0 bass. If the xm5 are similar, I wonder how much bass the ult have by comparison?

@@Neopumper666 I had the skullcandy skull crushers, which were their first generation, they had an AA battery amplifier on the cord and it was a little bit ridiculous, I had the second gen which they did in Bluetooth and they were called crushers and now I have the 3rd gen crushers evo (the ones flossy has). I don`t think I could use them more or abuse them more as I use them outside, inside, in the rain or cold, they are bulletproof and sound amazing. For someone that likes bass, you don`t care about the fakeness, you just want your head to rattle, and they do that very successfully. I didn`t try the ANC ones, I wonder if they are any better. Hopefully they bring a new generation out. What I would like to hear is more fidelity. I want the sounds to be a bit more defined. At the moment they have this huge heavy bass that is like a car sub, it`s great but could be better in fidelity. I love the Idea though and nobody seems to compare in actual bass power.

Have you ever had any other Sony HEADphones? Maybe in the XB series? I'm looking for something to rival my Cursher EVOS and I thought these were the ones but they fall EXTREMELY short of the Evos. I once had Sony XB series EARphones are they were nice, I know the XB series has HEADphones too but I've never owned a pair.

@@dsandoval9396I’m gonna talk from experience, I have had the xb900n for over 4 years now, and, I recently acquired the xm5, in therms of audio quality, it’s not the best option, they’re good enough, but if you are looking for the best and most balanced experience in audio, they’re not for you, however, they’re in a sweet spot in terms of what you get for the price, the ANC is correct, the sound, not the best as I said, but enough, materials, again, not the best but they will resist, I think the best they have, is that they’re a fun pair of headphones, it’s so punchy, so if you listen a lot of music with much bass, they’re definitely for you

Been using them ULTs for a month now. Before i had the Crusher ANC2 which i sold. This is what I found out. The ANC2 have more bass. Like moore bass. The haptic motors exaggerate it a great deal which makes the ANC 2 a fun pair of headphones to use in the gym or short period of time. Overall sound quality in the ANC2 is average. Other than the bass, i found their musicality lackluster. The Sony Ults on the other hand have way better overall sound quality when you EQ them properly. I use ult 1, clear bass 7 plus some other settings and ldac. They sound really good. Bass is deep, subwoofer like and the mids, highs shine too. I absolutely love them. As a basshead myself i actually prefer the Sony Ults over the Skullcandy. What I miss about the Skullcandy is the build quality. The Sony ults feel too flimsy in my view.

Hey Shoes! 😊 Whiteshoes has never been more invested in a product review so yeah I'm definitely buying this Sony ULT Wear. But honestly I think it is wise for Sony to play in this lower price range with this XM5 lite. Nobody spending 400 pounds in a saturated headphones market just to get some good bass.

Definitely the Crushers are in a league of their own, but when Floss said that these Ult deliver more bass than the XM5, that fact relieved me a lot, I owned the XM4 and the XB910 and the bass on those headphones were not enough and according to other reviews the XM5 have the same "issue". Long time ago I had a the Crushers BT like in 2018, and they really blowed me away specially with that haptic bass and I''m sure Crushers got better with all these years, but I'm not longer that hardcore bass head or at least not like used to be, so I rather pick these ULT due to their versatility, I think that's the word, putting the ULT against the XM5, man these ULT should sound amazing if they can almost compete neck to neck in sound quality with Sony's top of the line, great review Floss, as always!!!

The Sony app is defo recommended because I used it to tailor the tuning to my liking and I actually love them now Pretty comfortable too I can’t really compare it with anything because these are my first overhead headphones but I’m defo happy with my purchase

I've been using my Crusher Evo for the past 3.5 years. It still works fine. All good with a new ear pad. The battery is magnificent. The simulated bass of Crusher is too much. Hence I'm using my own EQ curve in Poweramp EQ, further with keeping the Crusher bass slider at 15%. And I hate the sound staging of Crusher Evo. I don't feel the staging is decent in Crusher. But recently I started noticing this ULT, XM4 and XM5. Now I'm curious to know the bass difference between both. I actually don't know if I'm missing out any overall better sounding headphones with decent bass as I haven't looked for an alternative all these 3.5 years with my Crusher Evo.

On the subject of comparing the ULT Wear to Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2, I have spent the past couple weeks using the ULT, having never even tried the Crushers until yesterday. I’ve been testing them out for the past day, and honestly… except for the cool vibrating sensation occasionally, everything else about the ULT is much better overall than the Crushers. Certain songs just sound “off” on the Crushers, regardless of what you do in the EQ settings, or whether ANC is on or off. It’s almost like it has some sort of artificial limiter that is being hit and negatively affecting the music. And, as has been said many times already, the noise cancelling between the two is like night and day. ULT all day. Probably going to return the Crushers. They’re just the vibrating gimmick. Past that, not good.

I tried this Sony Ult Wear, and definitely not impressed by the sound quality. It has a noticeable dip somewhere at the 3-4 Khz range, and that makes the sound so veiled. The bass boost is more boomy than punchy for my taste. The cushions passive isolation one of the worst, that i've ever experienced. The only pros are LDAC support and strong ANC, but all of the other features are average or below-average. I'm not surprised, that you didn't blown away from these, Flossy! :D

What these ult wear headphones are about is getting great bass+ Dsee + great ANC all in one package. I woyld giess Alt1 with boosted highs will be liked the most by audiophile bass heads, as DAC play a major role in performance. Of course depends on user preference, but I know whay dsee does and so do I care about anc. That's it.

I was watching a lot of headphone reviews last month since I wanted to get myself a good pair… and so I found about your channel. Love your reviews man, you’re the goat. From thinking of getting the Tozo HT2s, and then Sony WHCH720n, then almost decided to go for the Sony XB910n, but then saw Sennheiser Accentum and Momentum series, my mind was filled up with confusion. But after all, I just went all in and got myself the Bose Quietcomfort 45. Some people suggested me Sony XM4 since it was coming around the same price with more features but I just felt that the QC45 had more charm to it even just by the looks xd! And after knowing that there was an update that provided custom EQ to the QC45 which wasn’t there at launch, it was an easy choice for me. Seeing your videos tho, developed an interest in me to keep watching your reviews either I’m interested in getting that product or not. I hope my decision to go for the QC45 was right and hope it proves to be as good as, or even better than what Sony releases in the near future like the ULT Wear.

It's better at canceling out background noise or people's voices, which is what I need. It's even better than the WH1000XM5 at that, and with the BASS booster, that makes it better, but what's stopping me might be that the XM6 will get better noise isolation, and it might get a BASS button and a retractable chassis switch.

Omg i want thease so bad... I've always been looking for the most bass heavy headphones that can reproduce very low bass cleanly, i do own the skullcandy crusher evo's and i actually bought them after watching your review and while they are amazing and very fun for the most part they don't play below 30hz and the bass can be quite muddy sometimes, now I'm seeing this & I'm genuinely sad that these are 350$ in my country as i cannot afford it, why do they have to be so expensive it's just a pair of headphones 😭 Oh well i guess i could ask a family member to get them for my upcoming birthday if I'm lucky enough as i don't usually get expensive gifts 🤣😭😭
