Thank you for reviewing the gs5 the way it's supposed to be reviewed.. so many reviewers PRAISE STOCK ANDROID and it's so annoying cuz stock Android is just begging to have a skin over it. Some reviews say that touchwiz has too many colors?? And too many features? ? Wtf is wrong with people. It so nice to see a normal review I was ready to lose my mind.

I like stock. Past versions of touchwiz weren't great IMO. But samsung has done a decent job with this version of touchwiz. Still needs root though to de-bloat a few things.

Yes and once you root it you can install MW apps manager from the play store to add all your apps on the multi window

When you use touchwiz it's impossible to go back to stock. . It's like going back 2 years in technology. .even with the lag you can't go back. All touchwiz is really is stock android 2 or 3 years into the future.

Hey floss to get that notification when the screen is off go to setting a accessibility then dexterity and interaction. Its called air view wake now. Where do u go to speed up that my magazine lag when u swipe over. That drive me crazy and I can't find the setting.

Still using my S5 in 2018. Was pissed at Samsung because they stopped making replacement batteries for it but recently found a reliable aftermarket battery. The IR blaster was cool for controlling TV/cable box until the corresponding app got greedy and started putting ads on the home screen so deleted app. Recently loaded the Samsung Gear app for the Gear Sport watch and noticed it slows down the phone. Your review is spot on concerning finger print scanner, heart rate monitor, etc. - excellent review.

Can someone help me out? 2-3 times a day I get this one issue: I unlock the phone, but the screen perma-lags / is unresponsive and just turns off in 2-3 seconds. This can go for like a minute, and then it starts to work / catches up. Another way out is to hold the power button to get the options, and then maybe on the 2nd time it starts working normally again. A restart always fixes it. Any way to fix this?

I don't really use the camera much,it does take good shots in low light,examples dusk,bars,rooms with little light, in bright sunlight it kind of washes out, meaning not a lot of fine detail.

Good stuff man. Real and true. I actually use air view pretty often especially when choosing a pic to upload. Instead of tapping an album then tapping a pic, you can air view, see the 9 most recent pics, tap the pic I want, and it's already selected. Sounds like a lot but actually works quickly.
