Stoked you have found your channel. You definitely are an excellent fisherman. My 11 year old son told me about your fishing when he was looking up flounder techniques. I love all the explanation and how hard you get after it. Probably watched about 20 so far. Heads up, kids are watching.. rarely have I heard any foul language, but the couple times my son kind of looked at me sideways. Anyway glad I found you, never have seen anyone slay the flounder like you do, and glad you go after so many other species. Only have subscribed to 6 other KZbin channels, so I definitely like what you do.

First off let me start by saying I love the videos you do, you are a true inspiration to real fishermen every where and second I see you know where the good spots are in cape may cause I used to fish those same waters just outside of angelsea north wildwood makes me home sick that's also a good spot for blues and King fish when they're around. Keep the vids coming bro and tight lines always

Good Fishing SM always. Caught myself some good flounder and dinner the day before the 24hkfc. and the worst part was fishing for 19 hours straight thinking about eating my flounder in the fridge haha.

I live about 5 minutes from there and on that sod bank i caught a 8lb sea bass off of my dads boat. The fluke there is great because if you go to the sod bank on the right of the avalon bridge you will catch. Btw i am getting a fishing kayak for my b day b cause of you. Love the videos man

I don't know if you are parking on the bridge in that first spot, but you can park on the street next to the bridge and walk under it instead of wading through both creeks. Sometimes the people there may say something, but they don't own the sod bank, even if they used to put a dock up out there.

Nice Chris, I was in fishing from shore in Long Island this weekend, I gotta tell you it was tough fishing, toughest so far this year, managed 1 keeper. That water is beautiful thou. 👍

the water in south jersey is very clear right now, cleaner than its been a lot of years past. I saw you've been getting the fluke for awhile now, I think the full moon wasn't helping anything this past weekend. thanks man!
@coolvid8 жыл бұрын
+Sea-Money Fishing ...yeah agreed, that moon didn't help any. I was in a local tourney from shore in LI this weekend and there were no 3rd place fluke weigh-ins until I got my keeper. That's how bad it was. I'm gonna get out this week and do something a bit different and hopefully get some good footage of fluking ...at night. 😅 we'll see how it goes. ✌️

Nice day overall regardless! I plan on doing my share of flounder fishing next weekend at Galveston Island and Crystal Beach Texas. Big momma specs should be hitting prettying good as well. Will do some wading along with some surf action. Though, I am a little leary of hitting the surf from seeing a good size alligator wading along the shores of Crystal Beach to make me think twice. Extra caution of course will be taken! Great video overall sir!!!

I live on the south shore of Long Island and love flounder fishing, is incoming or outgoing tide the best for fishing? And will sod bank flounder fishing also work out here?
@ChrisMcIntee8 жыл бұрын
yep it will work out there, flounder like the back bays and inlets and stuff and as long as the depth of the water is right (say 8'-30'+) they will be there. finding deeper water will often up your chances at catching, but 10'-20' is great depth. as for tides thats a tricky one, they might prefer the outgoing at one spot and incoming at another, generally though I tend to do best on the last of the incoming and the start of the outgoing. You can catch them any tide though.
@joshuakabanuk61878 жыл бұрын
so do fish bite better when the tide is coming in or do they bite better when the tides leaving
@ChrisMcIntee8 жыл бұрын
Really depends, any tide can be good, different spots are good on different tides and it changes day to day or throughout the season depending on water temp

Question..I live in Philly but have a place in West Wildwood. What things do you loom for when you try to locate a sod bank spot to fish. When you are driving around looking is there anything that you look for specifically to find a good spot?
@FishinPA8 жыл бұрын
any spot with deep water and a nice drop off along the bank... I usually get good results casting parallel to the bank using 3/4 - 1 1/4 oz bucktails with the swimming mullet as a trailer and make sure to have different colors...also if you find a spot that looks good, try it at different tides because the fish can be hot at one and turn off during the other
@ChrisMcIntee8 жыл бұрын
Fishin PA has good tips, yes look for deepish water that you can cast into. Inlets are also good, like hereford corsons townsends absecon and Cape May, there are a lot of different spots you can catch fluke in right now, from the backbays sods like this to the beaches out front. some of the smaller bridges around these towns can also be good. Its sorta tricky between boat traffic, bugs, tide, wind etc but if you can get it all lined up you can catch some tasty fish from the backbays down there.
@Mike-dk1wf8 жыл бұрын
+Sea-Money Fishing Thanks much appreciated. I'll be in Wildwood this week so I'm going to give it a shot. I fish the beach in North Wildwood a lot from Hereford Inlet to 7th street. Good times. Only thing that sucks about the sod banks for me is that I don't have waders at the moment and it isn't in the budget at the moment : (

Hello I Truly Enjoy your Videos , But Can I make a suggestion? - i would have made your first location MY 2nd - Those ( creeks ) are full of killies and grass shrimp - and when the drops they become a natural chum slick, so Fluke, Bass and Weaks all hang around the mouth of the Creeks waiting for them to get washed out.

Question for you, why did you tie direct with braid, instead of a shock leader in this set up?
@ChrisMcIntee8 жыл бұрын
that is a good question, I dont use leader only because I believe it doesn't make a difference to fluke, that is they wont be line shy. I might be wrong, but I have transitioned over the years from using fluoro 100% of the time to only times when im fishing rocky or snaggy areas where the line might graze and cut off, in which case Ill use fluoro or mono. For this though, muddy bank and soft bottom, no fluoro just straight braid. Maybe I need fluoro though and thats why im not catching more haha
@longislandfishing61508 жыл бұрын
Makes sense, thanks for the explanation, loving the videos!

How do you retrieve the jig, do you let it hit the bottom the whole time or just reel it in?
@ChrisMcIntee8 жыл бұрын
gotta keep it close to the bottom, I usually let it hit bottom and then give it a few cranks/jigs and then let it hit bottom again before jigging/reeling more, you want to keep it in the strike zone tho, which is within a couple feet of the bottom.
@Johnny-rk9tz8 жыл бұрын
