Black Flag was the only Assassin's Creed game I actually enjoyed and completed besides the Jack The Ripper DLC in Syndicate I think. Definitely among my favorites though. I couldn't stop playing it after school.

spoiler if u cant get over the fact that edward isnt a assains . he becomes an assasin at the end of the game . this entire explores the meaning of being an assasin and the responsibilities that come with joining the brotherhood . edward becomes after a very important and heart renching sequence of events . hence edward wasnt at the start of the game and hence the game repremands him constantly for wearing an assains robe but not being one until the end . so just have hope in the process .
