So glad you made it up here for Alsea Falls, Brian! I cut my teether on these trails - 40 mins from my house - and you were the one who got me into mountain biking, some 3 years ago! You classified them precisely. Just enough pump and tech on the blues to demand the fitness, with just enough flow on the rest to make it actually encouraging enough to keep on trying. Team Dirt did great work with what they had access to!

Rider from Portland here. I have been so upset that you hadn't ridden this trail yet. I heard you didn't like riding in Oregon very much after your A-t-c-a experience. These trails are perfect and for years I kept thing "Alsea Falls would definitely change BKXCs mind on Oregon). This is my favorite trail system I have ridden in Oregon. They are perfect. I kind of want to move to Corvallis just to ride these trails every weekend for the rest of my life. I also want to get an Ebike because the ride to the top of Misery Whip is awful. The most times I have gone from the bottom to the top is three times and I am probably never going to do that again. But with an Ebike I would be in heaven all day.

Rider/builder from Salem, OR here. I agree with every word you said about Alsea. It is PERFECT!👌 And the builders keep adding & refining the trails. Better & better each visit! I’m on the board of Salem Area Trail Alliance and I bring up Alsea at every opportunity. Our newest trail in Silver Falls State Park is called Rhoemers Medoe Trail (my baby:) and is our mini version of Springboard. We have allot of fun trails. Come ride w/us at S-Falls!👍😉 (Oh, and you’re dead right about e-bikes making it SO much better!👌

Did you stay at the campground? Or stop by the Waterfall (Alsea Falls)? The waterfall is actually a great place to stop in the summer, if you have a long hot climb, there's plenty of spots for wading and just cooling off. In regards to wildlife, I've seen a deer or two there. Apparently someone saw a cougar a few weeks ago and then took off down the trail as fast as he could and ended up crashing.

@@leightonstarks2328 Yeah. T2T is a seasonal must. Whypass (Carpenter Bypass) outside Cottage Grove is another semi hidden Gem.
