Flower face polymerclay sculpture making process - Flora

Hi dears! Long time no see. :)
I know that I'm not very productive on KZbin, but I'm trying my best, the reason is that I need really lots of time for complete a sculpture, anyway I will try to upload more, maybe every 2 or 3 weeks, instead of keeping you waiting for more than a month. Thank you so much for your comprehension and pacience.

This time I'm showing you the making process of Flora, it's the biggest face I've ever sculpted, and I enjoyed it, because I could work on tons of details. For who have asked me how to sculpt a face, yes here it is, it's my way, not sure it's the best way, but for me it's a easy way.

Hi! Thank u. :) I used Fimo soft and cernit. And I used soft pastels, acrylics and watercolor pencils. I remember that I used also alcool ink for the hair and flowers.😊

Hello Dear, I love your work and watched it with lot of interest. How did you bake it after putting flowers and other stuff on the board? What type of board is this?

hi! All the parts before flowers and accessories was prebaked (100 degree in oven for 10 min, or with heat gun). The board is a simple wood board painted with acrylic paints.

Creepy as in creating feelings of uneasiness and terror when viewed. Now, why is it creepy? That's a bit more difficult to explain if you don't see it, and there are subjective elements to it. But the main objective reason for the creepiness is the fact that proportions of the face are incorrect for a human being, yet this creature is made to look pretty and attractive. This places it deep within the uncanny valley, especially combined with its extreme neoteny. Is the creature a human, or some alien or evil spirit trying to emulate a human, with partial success? Is it a child or a disfigured adult with some chromosomal aberration that makes her keep childlike features into the adulthood. Yet, the make-up on the creature is suggestive of its sexual maturity. Additionally, the eyes look very dead, and with the very pale skin, as well as being cast in resin, this looks like a corpse. Yet, its eyes are wide open. And the flowers, which are beautiful on their own, in this context look like funeral decorations, adding to the discomfort that this image is inducing. And this is not even mentioning the fact that the head and the hand of the creature are obviously two separate pieces, not connected in any way, yet positioned in such a way to emulate a lifelike posture, as if a serial killer re-assembled a grizzly puzzle made of dismembered body parts of the victim. So yeah... Creepy af.
