I know this is a late comment but it’s really not out of the ordinary for greckles to act like this. When it comes to creatures that of a higher power, greckles shows respect to them unless there evil. For example when they met lys he regarded them as a kami and bowed to them when they met. Stormbeard was the same when greckles found out he was a ruincaller as it was someone blessed by the god of storms. With Fleur de Mort greckles though of her as a spirit/demigod of the forest they were in and gave her the trust and respect he thought he owed her. From his culture mortals are ones you should be skeptical of while gods and spirits of nature should be respected unless there evil
