Flower of Scotland - Bagpipes

“Flower of Scotland”, along with “Scotland the Brave”, is an unofficial national anthem of Scotland. The introduction of “Flower of Scotland” in 1967 was partly due to hostility amongst rugby and football fans toward the British national anthem “God Save the Queen” being used to represent Scotland. It was finally brought in as an unofficial anthem in response to “God Save the Queen” being continually drowned out by the ferocious booing and whistling of some of the Scotland supporters.

Good afternoon. i've been enjoying your piping series, and your goals of playing everything you know, and then moving on to learning other tunes. It's easy for any of us to get in a rut and play the same 30 tunes and never move on. I began piping in 1992 when I was probably too old to start. But, somehow I managed to play semi-pro for 17-years and pay a lot of bills, and meet and play for some rich and famous....and some not so rich and famous. Thanks for sharing your efforts, I'm listening and learning. I basically put my pipes up about ten years ago after playing my daughter's wedding.....and now I'm getting active again, for many reasons. Maybe I'll be the only piper at the old folks home...
