Flower Painting in Watercolor by Charles Reid

Charles Reid has a quite specific style in watercolor painting, with loose, expressive brushwork which brings to life the essence of the flowers. In this book you get instructions on how he paints daisies, forsythia, and many other flowers. It's important to keep in mind he is teaching you HIS style. If you prefer incredibly detailed flower petals with pen-and-ink overlay, this is NOT the book for you. This is wholly and enthusiastically about Reid's soft, lively style. I happen to love his style, so this is great for me. It's just good to know what to expect.
This book is from 1979 so it's fair to say some of the information about the types of palettes available, the types of easels, and so on, is a bit dated. Also, there could have been more color pages available to help clarify some details. Still, if you're a fan of Charles Reid's work, you'll find his instructions and details quite useful.
