Sl st. FO. (12) Attach Color 2 R2: Ch2. 2HDC into each st. Sl St. (24) R3. [1Sk, 3DC, 1Sk, Sl st] repeat x 6, (24) R4. [1DC, 5DC, 1DC, Sl st] repeat x 6 (48) Attach Color 1 R5. Ch1. [1SC, 2SC] repeat, sl st (72) FO with an invisible join and weave ends. 5ply Pattern Using a 4.0 mm hook in your first color, R1: Ch3. 12HDC into first ch. Sl st. FO. (12) Attach Color 2 R2: Ch2. 2HDC into each st. Sl St. (24) R3. [1Sk, 3DC, 1Sk, Sl st] repeat x 6, (24) R4. [1DC, 3DC, 1DC, Sl st] repeat x 6 (36) R5. [1DC, 2DC, 4DC, 2DC, 1DC, Sl st] repeat x 6 (66) Attach Color 1 R6: C1. [1SC x 2, 2SC] repeat, sl st (83) FO with an invisible join and weave ends.

for round 2 does the chain 2 count as a HDC?

at the very beginning does the chain 3 count as a stitch? so would I do 11 HDC and the chain 3 counts as 12? Or does it not count as a stitch

one teeny tiny question.... can you use 4 ply yarn with the 5 ply yarn pattern?

You should be able to use 5ply yarn with similar results :)
